The Expo: Player Evaluations Part 3

In part three of our player evaluations, we continue to highlight standout performances. With such a talented field, the skill level was undeniable, and the competition was fierce. Here's a closer look at some of the players who made a statement at The Expo, demonstrating why they are rising stars in the sport.    [player_tooltip player_id='2443189' first='Connor' last='Lacoste'] continues to establish himself as one of the top pure shooters in the gym. While some players come to showcase ball handling or athleticism, Lacoste's main focus was to demonstrate his shooting consistency. In a setting where many strive to display a broad skill set, Connor proved that reps matter, knocking down shots consistently and playing the game the right way. He checks all the fundamental boxes: rebounding, assisting, ball handling, and most importantly, the ability to knock down his looks at the basket.     [player_tooltip player_id='2048875' first='Matthew' last='Cook'] is a well-rounded player with a complete game. He works tirelessly on both ends of the court and plays to his strengths, thriving in physical, competitive situations. A fundamentally sound ball handler, Cook uses his understanding of the game to score quickly or to set up teammates. His decision-making is a major asset, and he seems comfortable in systems that emphasize smart, disciplined play. Whether in open court finishing at the rim or making mid-range and three-point shots in half-court sets, Cook is a steady and skilled player with potential to compete at the next level     [player_tooltip player_id='2532477' first='Parker' last='Deville'] is a familiar name among those who follow shooters, and his game is built around getting the ball in catch-and-shoot opportunities. Confident and smart, Deville knows how to change a game when hot from beyond the arc. His sense of pace and spacing makes him a threat all over the court, and even on missed shots, his smooth jumper suggests big scoring seasons ahead. Keep an eye on Parker, his shooting potential and basketball IQ could lead to some standout performances.     Joachim was one of the most athletic players in the gym, and he made his mark in the post. He controlled the boards on both ends of the court and played effectively in every game. A true team player, Joachim focuses on playing selfless basketball and seizing opportunities when they arise. After securing rebounds, he quickly outlets the ball to guards and is a trusted finisher in pick-and-roll and offensive rebounding situations. It appears he has grown a couple of inches, and his game is perfectly suited to excel around the rim. Expect a strong season from Joachim as he continues to showcase his skills.     Catalano is a smooth operator with the ball in his hands. He is a skilled gaurd that has a motor to pair with his basketball IQ. Catalano is a clear point guard that obviously spends time working on his game. He is at his best when controlling the offense and creating for others. He is also a shifty guard with a clear ability to move defenses and get to the rim. Austin is an obviously elite player that will surely be someone to watch on the brink of his senior season.
