Sophomore ID Camp: Which Players from Team 7 Stood out

We hosted the Sophomore ID Camp at Gold Crown on September 7th, bringing together over 140 players from across the state to compete and showcase their abilities. The energy in the gym was high, with plenty of talent on display and several prospects making their mark. Here's a look at the sophomores from Team 7 who stood out during the event.    Warren-Nichols played with poise and high IQ. He's smooth and has a tight handle that created mismatches and led to easy scoring opportunities. He also found himself from deep as he knocked down multiple 3-pointers. He plays with tempo and made plays for others with no-look passes and made the right read. His jumper kept defenses honest while his penetration created easy finishes and kick-outs. He's a player that I think we will be hearing more about this upcoming year and is a player we're excited to follow. Very solid outing for him.     Alexander proved himself as a confident, versatile scorer. He created off the dribble, finished at the rim, and stretched defenses with his perimeter shooting. That really stood out in the 3-on-3 portion of the day. He showcased a balance as he scored from all three levels. He showed he could score on or off the ball which opens up the offense. His rebounding and defensive versatility added to his value, making him one of the more complete prospects on the floor.     Riopel used his 6'3 frame to bring toughness inside. He rebounded aggressively, finished through contact, and ran the floor for transition buckets. Defensively, he competed with effort, disrupted plays, and made the extra pass out of dump-offs. His hustle and motor created opportunities on both ends and this was really on display when we started playing 5 on 5. He's a player to watch that I feel we get to see carve out some varsity minutes this upcoming season. He's on the radar.     Tshibanda lived up to high expectations, filling the stat sheet and scoring with ease in 3 on 3 and 5 on 5. He blocked shots, stole passes, and converted athletic finishes in transition. He scored in bunches, using his size to create mismatches and his strength to finish through defenders. He would get the defender on his hip, give them a bump, and finish for and-1 opportunities, which you don't see much of in this class. He's also a versatile defender that I feel will explode this upcoming season. As the game slows for him, he'll be even more dangerous. He's a player to watch moving forward that we see get better each outing.
