This is by far the smallest section in Class AA and it's a section that is quite wide open. We discuss today!

Super Summary

The first thing you see in this section is..... wow, it only has 13 teams! The rest of Class AA ranges between 16 and 18 teams (with the exception of 7AA) so if you are in 8AA you have a leg up when it comes to getting to state.

With [player_tooltip player_id='2420039' first='Chase' last='Lindgren'] and [player_tooltip player_id='2420045' first='Carson' last='McDonald'] back for East Grand Forks I believe the Green Wave are set up to have a big year. They will enter the season as a top 15 team in Class AA basketball with a very real chance to be in the top ten by the New Year.

Two of their biggest challengers should be Perham and Osakis. These are good programs with some up and comers that did lose key players but they have guys back that should give them half of last year's rotation returning. Roseau and Thief River Falls have two of the best players in the section which should keep them right in the mix while Park Rapids, Warroad and DGF each have enough back to either take a step forward and be in a similar competitive spot in the top half.

Again this section is wide open. It's the type of section where a team that gels the best as a unit can make a run. In some sections you can get that type of chemistry but there are teams that are just too talented to beat. In 8AA this year I think the team with the most experience and the best chemistry will be the winner and that is why we first look to EGF.
