Pelican Rapids has gone to back to back state tournaments in Class AA and now they are in Class A. With [player_tooltip player_id='2851170' first='Jack' last='Welch'] returning!

Super Summary

Henning, West Central Area, Park Christian, Hillcrest Lutheran, Benson, these are good program. Ada Borup of course as well... these are good teams that are going to win a lot of games. Park Christian will be someplace in the top ten to start the year statewide in Class A and Henning and West Central will be in that top 15 area. The other teams listed, they could get in there too.

But Pelican Rapids, a team that has gone to the State Tournament in Class AA, they are in Section 6A now as well. And not only are they a good program moving down, they return Concordia-St. Paul committed [player_tooltip player_id='2851170' first='Jack' last='Welch'], they return playmaking guard Migel Torres, and starters Grady Larson and Ethan Isaman are back and both are only going to be juniors. Throw in a couple guys that were on the bench last year and that is six of the top eight guys back including four starters. That is the recipe for high expectations.

We are aware that Park Christian also brings a lot back and will be right there chasing Pelican Rapids for a state spot, we are aware that [player_tooltip player_id='1560827' first='Kale' last='Misegades'] is going to be the Class A preseason player of the year (most of the guys around him graduated though), and we are aware of how good [player_tooltip player_id='2524777' first='Lanadreon' last='Goodwin'] is at Benson, and we are aware that West Central is always well coached and talented but....

When you have a player like Welch, a veteran guard to go with him, most of the line-up back from a state team, and you are moving down a class, that is clearly the number one team in the state coming into the season.
