Montevideo and Jackson County Central enter the season as top of the top three teams in Class AA basketball. Who has the edge?

Super Summary

Montevideo went to state last season winning 27 games and they have four of their starters returning for the coming season including an all State player so expectations are high there.

Jackson County Central went 24-5 last year and they did that without Voss for part of the season. Since then JCC, who I believe returns four starters as well, has added a transfer that should make their starting five 6'1-6'4-6'4-6'7-6'10 which is a big line-up for a small school team.

Last March JCC and Montevideo played an outstanding 62-61 game that the Hawks won giving them the state tournament bid for 3AA. JCC had won the earlier match-up in the season 63-55. With both teams returning four starters expectations are high for both teams, and for the amazing games the teams are likely to play.

This section won't be just about these teams. Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta returns a lot as well and while they did lose two of three to Montivdeo last season, MACA is more than capable of playing for the section title as well. They will be a top 15 team in Class AA entering the season with a chance to hit the top ten. Keep an eye on Paynesville Area and KMS.
