Prep Hoops Sophomore ID Camp: Potential on Full Display

The underclassmen talent in Texas was on full display at the Prep Hoops Freshmen Showcase and Sophomore ID Camp. Both stages gave prospects the chance to compete head-to-head, showcase their skill sets, and start building their reputations early in their high school careers. From freshmen already showing maturity beyond their years to sophomores hungry to prove they're ready for bigger opportunities, the gym was filled with energy and breakout performances. He showed great awareness of when his defender lost sight of him, quickly relocating and making himself available as a target. Once the kick-out came his way, Reisman wasted no time, firing with a quick-trigger release that punished defenses for any lapse in attention.     A big-guard with the size and strength to initiate offense or operate as a secondary creator. His frame allows him to absorb contact when driving, while also giving him versatility defensively, as he can guard across multiple perimeter spots. Taylor projects as a physical mismatch guard who can create opportunities simply by using his size and functional athleticism.     Buckley was a skilled shot-creator who shined at breaking down tight defensive pressure off the dribble, using hesitations, combo moves, and sharp crossovers, often by his man with a off-hand swipe-and-go technique to dislodge defenders and create blow-by opportunities. Buckley's handle allowed him to manipulate defenders and dictate tempo, showcasing the ability to generate separation in small spaces and collapse defenses off the bounce. He understood how to set up others with draw-and-dish actions that forced defenses to shift or collapse. On top of his decision-making, Adel displayed a high shot release with a snappy wrist, giving his jumper a quick, efficient look.     Quick release and reliable catch-and-shoot three made him a threat off drive-and-kick action or when defender hands were down. He fit seamlessly as a connector piece, never forcing the issue but making timely shots, extra passes, and momentum-swinging defensive stops.     A timely cutter and dynamic slasher who consistently capitalized on defensive lapses. He excelled at stampede catches, attacking closeouts with a strong first step that put defenders in recovery mode. Castille played well within the flow of the offense, making sharp, purposeful cuts and finishing efficiently once he got downhill. His straight-line burst and body control made him tough to contain when attacking closeouts.
