With the summer coming to a close and the leaves beginning to turn, it's time to updated the rankings. Several prospects have leveled up over the last 3 months, so their rankings did too. Here are a few of note:

Brown skyrocketed up the rankings because he's genuinely playing with confidence and self-assuredness. In transition and on quick-hitting actions, he plays above the rim with force. He also catches the ball clean on the perimeter to knock down threes. And on both ends, he attacks the ball in the air for rebounds. Continuing to translate his tools and movements skills into production has him shifting from prospect to player.

Without necessarily adding to his game, Lane's lethal consistency is what moved him up. In every setting, he's almost guaranteed to hit (at least) a pair of threes, rebound well for his size, and add secondary playmaking. What's different about his play recently is that he's doing more of those things and his team is winning because of it. Lane keeps his foot on the gas and torches defenses from deep if they don't get a hand up. When he grabs a board, he's immediately pushing the pace with an outlet pass or taking it himself and exploiting a numbers advantage.

Shaw's summer in the weight room and the gym paid off. His play strength has improved, better able to absorb contact on drives and hold his spot against bigs in the post. On top of the threes, he showcased his mid-range game as well, flashing to open space for catch-and-shoot jumpers and getting to his spots off the catch. So after putting together big performances in big time matchups, college coaches are starting to notice. He received offers from Susquehanna University and Marywood University.

Briscoe's three-point shooting is the hallmark of his game, but it overshadowed the other ways he contributes on the floor, until recently. So in addition to hitting the trey ball at a high clip, he's causing havoc on defense. Briscoe is aware of what's going on around him at all times, pressuring the ball and disrupting passing lanes. Even in less structured settings when others are playing 1v1, he rotates and forces turnovers as a help defender.

A jack-of-all-trades guard, Handy stars in his role for the Wildcats. He doesn't need to score in order to have a “good” performance. He uses his long arms to get deflections as a team defender, keeps the ball moving with quick decisions, spaces the floor off-ball. Although Handy's a connector/glue guy on his high school team, there's more to him. With good positional size and a lanky frame, he has the ability to get hot from three and score off of closeouts to swing games.

A garbage man at the forward spot, Brewington is good at his job. He does the dirty work protecting the basket, defending bigger players, and cleaning the glass, whether that's with Spartans or the DE Running Rebels. Brewington's skillset allows him to play with other forwards because he's mobile on both ends. But he can be the lone forward on the floor too because he can screen and roll or post up on the low block.
