Pro Net Sports: 2025 Back to School League- 2030 Stand-Outs

These young players made an impression on the basketball court. The skills they showed exemplifies why they are stand-out players.    Wyatt has definitely improved since I watched him play last summer. He has also grown a few inches and plays a totally different position this time around. The first time I wrote him up as a small forward because of his skill set at the time. Now he plays more like a shooting guard. Wyatt beats defenders off the dribble, attacks the basket and knocks down perimeter jump-shots. Last summer he mostly rebounded and scored in the post. In addition to his scoring and ball handling, Wyatt has become a great passer and continues to be an excellent rebounder. He excels at drawing contact and getting to the foul-line. The biggest improvement I noticed was his defense. Wyatt's aggressive style of ball pressure helped [program_tooltip program_id='2559412' first='Marlin' last='Academy'] 8th Red force numerous turnovers. I love the fact that Wyatt is playing up a grade. This will benefit his skills as an all around player. He finished the game with (10 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 steals)     The big man was the most dominant player on the court Saturday afternoon. Jacob easily dominated his opponents in the paint with excellent post moves and great footwork. He moved around flawlessly within the [program_tooltip program_id='2559412' first='Marlin' last='Academy'] offense. If the team needed inside scoring, Jacob gave it to them. When the team needed outside shooting, he knocked them down from mid or long range. Whenever the team found themselves in transition, Jacob ran the floor and finished strong at the rim. He's a great rebounder who attacked the glass on both ends of the floor. I am certain Jacob finishing the game with a double-double in points and rebounds. Defensively, he played big in the paint. He contested every opposing shot, had a couple of blocks and made scoring difficult for Indy Hoops Black 8th.     Aneesh is a talented scorer! He's great at getting to the basket. In the match-up against Indy Hoops 8th Red, Aneesh scored in a variety of ways. Whether it was beating opponents off the dribble, scoring from mid-range or extending his range beyond the three-point line, Indy Hoops 8th Red had no answers for him defensively. Whenever Aneesh had a one-on-one match-up, he immediately attacked the opposition. These circumstances led to him scoring or assisting teammates cutting to the basket. Defensively, he played great on the perimeter. The on-ball pressure he applied forced numerous turnovers that led to easy transition scores for his teammates. Aneesh is a great all-around player who is destined to have an excellent season during the school year.     Kamden excels at every aspect of the game. He scores, passes, rebounds and defends. Whether it's beating opponents off the dribble, attacking the basket, knocking down three-pointers or winning one-on-one match-ups, Kamden was a major problem. He has a great handle of the basketball, which he easily used to beat his opponents to the basket. Whenever he drove the ball into the lane, Kamden showed a knack for scoring tough baskets. In some instances he used slick ball handling to create the space he needed to get his shot off. He was able to knock down short perimeter shots that led to him extending his range beyond the three-point line. Defensively, he was great at applying pressure to his opponents and forcing turnovers. Kamden is a great player who has a chance of becoming elite in the near future.     Bryson is a shifty pass first point guard who showed excellent leadership. He led his team in assists and play-making. Most of his passes were on the money. Whenever teammates found themselves in scoring positions, Bryson found a way to get them the basketball. He's a great ball handler who easily broke down opponents off the dribble. Bryson attacked the paint and scored high arching floaters over taller defenders. He always looked to push the pace for Indy Hoops 8th Black. Bryson was the catalyst of the team's fast-break opportunities. Whenever he led the break, positive outcomes happened for the team. He knocked down perimeter shots and showed why he's a great floor leader. Defensively, he generated multiple steals with great timing and excellent foot speed. As he continues to grow and progress his skills, I believe the sky's the limit for Bryson as a basketball player.     Cody was the primary ball handler and facilitator on Indy Hoops 8th Red. He played both guard positions at a high level. Whether it was scoring, passing, rebounding or defending, Cody found ways to be effective on the basketball court. He showed great leadership by communicating with his teammates on offense and defense. Most of his assists led to easy scores for others near the basket or along the perimeter. He easily handles the ball and beats defenders to the rim. I watched a player who excelled at scoring tough baskets through contact. Cody showed a knack for knocking down contested shots from mid or long range. He's a great on-ball defender. He forced numerous turnovers and caused opposing guards to commit mistakes. Cody is a excellent combo guard who will become even better as he continues to grow and mature.
