London Showcase Southwest 16U recap

A group of players from Arizona challenged themselves versus some of the top Great Britain National players and local British players for the London SHOWCASE. They spent one week in London exploring around the country but also playing some highly competitive hoops.     The 16U ended up going 0-3. They did make improvements every single game and they just competed. He gets the ball off his hands in a blink of an eye and has deep range. He has that shooters mentality that the next one is going in. He is also finding a middle game and is playing off of two-feet and rising up or can step thru or find a teammate. Look for him to be the guy at Seton all year.   Ryder Brainis New Hampton   One of the quickest players on the team has a nice first step and can get into the teeth of the defense and make a play. He will burst to the basket to score or hit shots from mid-range. He was a former Rancho Solano Prep PG who is taking his talents to New Hampton.   [player_tooltip player_id='2533645' first='Wyatt' last='Fulton'] Rancho Solano Prep   A defensive minded combo guard plays on or off the ball. He rebounds well, collects steals with his aggressive play and quicker hands combined with his instincts. He is a capable three point shooter and will get to the basket plus finds teammates in stride.   [player_tooltip player_id='2909631' first='Garret' last='Fulton'] Rancho Solano Prep   The older brother is more of a shooting specialist. He is a smart player who gets to his spots to get his shot off. He is a catch and shoot three point type and his ball rotates like it should with a quicker trigger. He has good energy on defense and rebounds well in his area.   [player_tooltip player_id='2432568' first='Cyler' last='Jessup'] Valley Christian   A quickly growing combo guard has some length and quickness. He has a deceptively quick first step to get past his initial defender to the basket. He will also hit the three off the catch and is working on a pull-up. He rebounds the ball well, collects steals with his length and moves the ball.   [player_tooltip player_id='2731627' first='Parker' last='Bowden'] Mesa   A good sized wing forward with some skill and length. The southpaw can shoot it from elbow and in and uses the floater game well. He scores with offensive rebound put backs and he was one of the better rebounders of the U16 team. He held his own playing up a year.   [player_tooltip player_id='2297437' first='Dylan' last='Vargas'] San Tan Charter   The top athlete of the team has good size and next level athleticism. Vargas was a man on the glass all week long. He had two double-doubles including 19 points and 10 rebounds in game 3. He also pitched in with the 18U team the last day. He gets great position and uses his size and quick springs to leap up and grab the ball at its highest point. He scores with dunks, put backs, mid-range jumpers, threes off the catch and contested driving layups.   [player_tooltip player_id='2107084' first='Adam' last='Medina'] Gilbert   A strong bodied power forward with skill, post footwork and face-up abilities. He can step out and shoot the three but also works inside with offensive rebound put backs and can use the floater game. He can take a ball off the glass and handles it decently enough to get a shot off.
