8/9/25: When playing Beech Woodlee was largely too passive. Maryville, with the transfer of [player_tooltip player_id='2345574' first='Brayden' last='Hazelbaker'] to Knox Webb, needs Woodlee to score at his highest level...at least until some non-seniors grow into secondary scorers. Woodlee's best attack came as he curled off of a screen, crossed to standup his slower-footed defender, then speedily dipped into the lane. Once Woodlee got the wing on his shoulder it was curtains and JW finished 'em off with a lovely floater.

8/9/25: Senior [player_tooltip player_id='1787950' first='Luke' last='Sigmund'] was patient in the lane and showed more poise than he used to when younger. He was fine with a pump fake or with a pause before rising against Beech High.

8/9/25: As a slasher, Owensby rarely burned by his defender. His best play against Beech was a sharp 30' chest pass to a rim-running [player_tooltip player_id='1787950' first='Luke' last='Sigmund'] that Sigmund finished with two-hands without a dribble. Owensby was very feisty and aggressively tried to root out Sisk with a hip. He will be Maryville's most combative defender thanks to his obvious willingness to mix it up.

8/9/25: Elite passing from the wing or high post. Cutter essentially runs the offense no matter where he catches the ball. Uncanny offensive awareness. Cutter backs down with his gaze scanning the shooters moving and rotating. He enjoys passing when 2-3 guys help onto Sisk. Sisk's second jump is quicker and more demonstrative than it was last season. As good as he is, Sisk becomes almost unguardable when he pops out and knocks down a 3-pointer. High school bigs just do not have the mobility to defend him 19' from the rim. His three-pointer on Maryville opened up the game from 34-28 to 37-28.

8/9/25: Facing Maryville, Samuel moved expertly without the basketball, constantly providing [player_tooltip player_id='2439013' first='Cutter' last='Sisk'] with a kick-out target. Sisk plays with a lot of gravity, drawing multiple defenders. Plourde will reap the benefits because he comfortably makes open three-pointers.
