On Sunday, July 27th, I attended Tufts University's elite prospect camp. Similar to Brandeis, there were about 35 players in attendance and some really solid talent.

As always, I couldn't watch every single game and drill that happened, so there is certainly some stuff that I missed throughout the day. However, this is who stood out to me.

Ricca had one of the prettier shots on display at Tufts elite camp. He has no wasted motion in his release and doesn't let his guide hand do too much work, so it looks very nice and consistent. He also has great speed and a very strong upper body, which allows him to compete athletically with other high level guards. Passing wise, he's unselfish and willing to make the simple pass, and I love how he always kicks the ball ahead to teammates. Some added verve to his ball handling would certainly give him a better chance at cracking the high D3 schools, but he'll definitely be on a D3 squad when the time comes.

Whittley-Ligon was the most physically-ready college basketball player in the gym on Sunday. He has a massive upper body and completely disregards anyone who tries to get in front of him on his way to the rim; this comes in handy for straight line drives and offensive rebounds, where he's quite effective. Defensively, he's very versatile because his athleticism allows him to guard ball handlers on the perimeter but his size and strength allows him to guard bigs down low. He needs to refine his skills and improve his feel for the game, but a high level D3 school might take a chance on him even if he doesn't. Really intriguing prospect.

Commodore was a mid range machine all day at Tufts. The 5-foot-10 guard is obviously undersized for the point guard position, but he consistently used his quickness and explosiveness to get to his spots at the elbow or nail and elevate for contested middies. Some of them didn't look like great shots initially, but he made a high percentage and clearly likes to get to these spots on the floor. He also moves with great pace up and down the floor, though he sometimes goes too fast and does a bit too much. Size could hurt his recruitment, but I bet he'll find a D3 fit somewhere.

Loeffler is a total energizer bunny on the court. He's constantly moving at a ridiculous speed and is an excellent slasher as a result. He has great explosiveness and athleticism at the hoop, too, which allows him to finish over much bigger defenders. He just has awesome in-air body control and the toughness to take contact and finish. He also knows how to play in a team setting and can move without the ball effectively. I would imagine he'll find a D3 fit when the time comes, though some improvements to his three point shot would definitely raise his recruitment.

Patel has an odd-looking shot, but he made it with great consistency on Sunday. The lefty has very little arc and interesting spin on the ball, but he can stroke it from three and also looks comfortable driving closeouts once the defense overplays his shooting. He has a quick first step and very surprising athleticism at the rim, though he sometimes looks to do a bit too much when he punctures the paint. He should be a key player for BB&N this season and I'll be curious to see whether he can find a D3 fit after this year.
