As the Summer nears an end and the basketball winds down, we will recap some of the notable player offers, movements, and performances from across South Carolina over the past two months. Second in the series is out-of-state and into state transfers. June and July are busy times for player movements and an important time for roster building. Check out this list of players who arrived in or departed the Palmetto State this Summer.

Into State Transfers

[player_tooltip player_id='1487226' first='A.J.' last='Washington'] - Davidson Day (NC) -> Fort Mill

AJ will return to the Yellow Jackets this season after playing his Junior Season in North Carolina at Davidson Day. The re-addition of Washington is a massive move for Coach Lowery's group, cementing them as one of the favorites in 5A D2. He will be another offensive weapon who will be able to get tough buckets in the paint in crucial situations.

[player_tooltip player_id='2877440' first='Keori' last='Atwell'] - Westside (GA) -> Fox Creek

Keori is part of a reloaded Fox Creek Roster who have immediately turned into a contender in 3A. He will add good versatility on both ends of the floor, being able to guard multiple positions as well as score in vaious ways. Atwell averaged 7.9 PPG and 5.0 RPG for the Patriots last year and should bring that same production and experience in his Senior Season.

[player_tooltip player_id='2631779' first='Jayen' last='Reeves'] - Palisades (NC) -> Lancaster

Reeves was the Pumas' leading scorer at 14.7 Points Per Game and made the move to South Carolina to help the Bruins defend their 4A State Championship belt. Jayen is a small but gritty Guard who brings consistency, defensive intensity, a tight handle, and an efficient shooting stroke.

[player_tooltip player_id='2227535' first='Austin' last='Nesbit'] - Legacy Christian (CA) -> Georgetown

Austin is back at Georgetown HS after spending the last year in California. Nesbit has developed physically since I last saw him, but is still as confident and capable of a scorer off the dribble. While still out West, Austin began the AAU Season with Build Your Way Elite, before ending it with a couple of nice showings with Upward Pee Dee.

[player_tooltip player_id='2313892' first='Chanze' last='Allen'] - Grovetown (GA) -> Fox Creek

Fox Creek will be the third school in three years for Allen after stops at Columbia (AL) and Grovetown (GA). However, based on what he did with the Predators in June, this could be his most successful season yet. Chanze averaged over 17 Points Per Game at the SCBCA Live Event, turning heads with scoring across all three levels.

[player_tooltip player_id='2918769' first='TJ' last='Filkins'] - Grovetown (GA) -> North Augusta

TJ is one of two July transfers, but I did get to see him with Grovetown (GA) at the USC Team Camp in June. He impressed with his combination of size and athleticism, particularly around the rim at both ends. Filkins also showed flashes of his handle and his perimeter shooting ability.

[player_tooltip player_id='2364856' first='Tristan' last='Anderson-Edmond'] - Eastlake (TX) -> North Augusta

Anderson-Edmond hit the ground running with his new team in June. He stood out at the Sizzlin' Summer Shootout with his two-way play, particularly as an on-ball defender and in attacking the basket. Tristan has good body control around the rim and will often look to press immediately after a made bucket.

[player_tooltip player_id='2300245' first='Will' last='Russell'] - North Cobb Christian (GA) -> Seneca

Russell is the most recent player to announce his move to the Palmetto State, doing so just last week. Will is a multi-sport athlete, also excelling as a baseball player. I haven't had the chance to see him live or on film, but Russell does appear to have good size, which could be useful for the Bobcats alongside a stellar set of Guards.

Out-of-State Transfers

Korie Corbett - Ridge View -> Oak Hill Academy (VA)

Elton Smith - Keenan -> Dynamic Prep (TX)

Mikey Williams Jr - Greer -> Rabun Gap (GA)

Hunter McGraw - Gray Collegiate -> Dynamic Prep (TX)

Hudson Hatch - Philip Simmons -> Christ School (NC)

Jayden Heggins - Westside -> Florida Coastal Prep (FL)

Columbus Parker - Lancaster -> Providence Day (NC)
