The PrepHoopsTN Summer Combine (2025) featured ambitious hoopers, predominately from the classes of 2026-2028. For the rest of the summer, we will be featuring the campers with evaluations and measurements from the day, June 22nd, 2025.

Bryson Hammond Bryson Hammond Bryson Hammond 6'1" | CG Notre Dame | 2028 State TN | 6'1 1/4" SG | Notre Dame | 2028

How did he measure against the competition?

  • Class of 2028
  • 6'1 1/4" combo guard
  • Wingspan -- 6'2 3/4"
  • 3/4 Court Sprint -- 3.70, 3.55
  • Lane Agility -- 12.94, 12.59
  • Hand Span -- 9.0"
  • Hand Length -- 8.25"
  • Camp Ranking -- #24
    State Ranking -- Top 150

Defends with pride. High effort guy.  Skills offensively need work (shooting range/handle).  He is a strong guy and it will help if he uses that advantage more in traffic.  Solid screener. Ran the floor well on the break and hustled back in transition too.

Hurst Wood Hurst Wood Hurst Wood 6'0" | PG Boyd-Buchanan | 2028 State TN | 6'0" PG | Boyd-Buchanan | 2028

How did he measure against the competition?

  • Class of 2028
  • 6'0" PG
  • Wingspan -- 6'1"
  • 3/4 Court Sprint -- 3.38, 3.20
  • Lane Agility -- 11.89, 11.35
  • Hand Span -- 9.5"
  • Hand Length -- 8.0"
  • PrepHoopsTN Combine All-Star
  • Camp Ranking -- #11
  • State Ranking -- Top 100

Excellent court awareness.  Sees things before they happen.  Average athlete.  Some wiggle as a ball-handler. Not verbal enough on the defensive end. He handed off players occasionally but did not communicate as it happened. Hurst consistently kept his eyes and brain open for backdoor pass options. Quality "point-guarding."

David Litchford David Litchford David Litchford 6'2" | SG McCallie | 2028 TN | 6'2" SG | McCallie | 2028

How did he measure against the competition?

  • Class of 2028
  • 6'2" Shooting Guard
  • Wingspan -- 6'0 1/2"
  • Hand Span -- 8.75"
  • Hand Height -- 8.25"
  • 3/4 Court Sprint -- 3.38, 3.33
  • Lane Agility -- 12.35, 12.10
  • Camp Ranking -- #21
  • State Ranking -- Watch List
Quick enough to defend on the perimeter though his understanding of defending the pick'n'roll requires some instruction.  David finished his Lane Agility promisingly (12.10 seconds). One aspect he needs to improve is showing for the ball.  One on particular play during 4v4 DJ Wilbur DJ Wilbur DJ Wilbur 5'10" | PG Red Bank | 2026 State TN wanted to get the ball on the wing, but Litchford failed to create separation and make the pass for DJ simple.  So, DJ drove and absorbed Litchford's man and tried to kick but Litchford did not drift or flare to enable a simpler pass there and the team turned it over.  Either of those two poor opportunities could have become good passing opportunities with simply off-ball movement. His hands measured fourth biggest among the many guards in the gym. Must gain weight/strength in chest/shoulders. Nice height for a sophomore off-guard. Might still be growing vertically too.

Carter Smith Carter Smith Carter Smith 6'4" | CG/SF Boyd-Buchanan | 2028 State TN | 6'3 1/2" SF | CSLA | 2028

How did he measure against the competition?
  • Class of 2028
  • 6'3 1/2" SF
  • Wingspan -- 6'6"
  • 3/4 Court Sprint -- 3.41, 3.33
  • Lane Agility -- 12.39, 11.99
  • Hand Span -- 9.5"
  • Hand Length -- 8.25"
  • Camp Ranking -- #10
  • State Ranking -- Top 50

Going to be a really good varsity athlete. Can improve his on-ball defense, but it isn't for lack of effort. He is a touch slower than the blindingly fast point guards. To expand his defensive game he should be able to guard a high school 1-3. This comes down to improving his ability to move laterally. Carter can improve his straight-line speed (3.65 second 3/4-court sprint), which will help him run the break better. Good teammate.  Eager passer.

Brandon Lyons Brandon Lyons Brandon Lyons 5'10" | PG Tyner Academy | 2028 TN | 5'10" PG | Tyner Academy | 2028

How did he measure against the competition?

  • Class of 2028
  • 5'10" Point Guard
  • Wingspan -- 5'10 1/2"
  • 3/4 Court Sprint -- 3.06, 3.28
  • Lane Agility -- 12.49, 12.15
  • Hand Span -- 8.5"
  • Hand Length -- 8.0"
  • Camp Ranking -- #23
  • State Ranking -- Watch List

Natural point guard. Need to add good weight. Eager passer.  Solid mid-range shooter. Brandon broke off a wonderful behind-the-back dribble to escape pressure and begin the break during 4v4. Lyons' biggest weakness was on-ball defense where performed spotty, at best, against Zavion Stallion Zavion Stallion Zavion Stallion 6'0" | PG Tyner Academy | 2028 State TN .  Zavion is no faster than Brandon, but he routinely burned by him because Lyons did not get low or move his feet like he can. Brandon performed THE fastest 3/4 quarter sprint on the day (3.06 seconds). Technically, he tied for the fastest with a high school track dude who competes in the sprints for Cleveland High.

Amari Martin Amari Martin Amari Martin 6'0" | SG/CG Bradley Central | 2028 State TN | 6'0" SG | Bradley Central | 2028

How did he measure against the competition?

  • Class of 2028
  • 6'0" Bradley Central
  • Wingspan -- 6'1"
  • Lane Agility -- 13.52, 12.54
  • 3/4 Court Sprint -- 3.40, 3.30
  • Hand Span -- 7.75"
  • Hand Height -- 8.00"
  • Camp Ranking -- #16
  • State Ranking -- Top 75

Creative. Lacked consistency shooting from deep.  Most of his day included games with no 3's.  Amari was faster (3.30, 3.40 sprint) than he was quick (12.54 lane agility). Looked like a SG more than PG. At 6-foot-0 and crafty his college projection would improve if he can re-establish as a quick point guard instead of crafty, shooting guard at his new school of Bradley Central High. As a scorer around the rim, he was nice with the pump fakes and deceptive.

Luke C. Smith Luke C. Smith Luke C. Smith 6'10" | C/PF McCallie | 2028 State TN | 6'10 1/4" C | McCallie | 2028

How did he measure against the competition?

  • Class of 2028
  • 6'10 1/4" Center
  • Wingspan -- 7'0"
  • Hand Span -- 10.75"
  • Hand Height -- 9.0"
  • 3/4 Court Sprint --3.78, 3.65
  • Lane Agility -- 13.89, 13.54
  • @PrepHoopsTN Combine All-Star
  • Camp Ranking -- #7
  • State Ranking -- Top 25

Talked great on defense.   Needs to improve his endurance. His 5v5 guards did not feed him enough and Luke grew frustrated.  During halfcourt drills he showed for the basketball effectively. Again, it was impossible to get a good read on his 5v5 offense Sunday because the style of play did not involve him enough.  Surprisingly fast sprint speed (3.65 second 3/4-court sprint). Rebounded well in his area. Finished high above the pesky guards.
