LONG BEACH — The first live viewing period of July kicked off across the country this week and Thursday at McBride high school marked the opening event in Southern California with the Pangos Premier 80 Showcase. The event featured 80-plus prospects from various states - and even internationally from Greece - with many of the players being of the "under-the-radar" variety. Below we break down the standout wings we watched.

Amare Oba | 2026 | Coronado (NV)

Oba was among the more explosive athletes in the gym and thrived in the up-and-down, free-flowing style of play. The 6-foot-5 wing finished off a handful transition drives and finishes in which he cleaned the defensive glass and went coast to coast for a bucket. Oba also stretched the floor to the three-point line off the catch and attacked the rim in straight-line drives for above the rim finishes.

[player_tooltip player_id='2425767' first='Jeremiah' last='Lark'] | 2026 | Oak Hills

Lark continues to emerge as an intriguing but under-the-radar 2026 prospect who should see Division II looks over the next 10 months. The 6-foot-4 rising senior is an explosive vertical athlete who is a springboard leaper off of two feet and looks to finish everything with authority around the basket. Lark is a poster dunk waiting to happen who has also made vast improvements to his three-point shot off the catch.

[player_tooltip player_id='2509663' first='Kaiden' last='Gibbs'] | 2026 | Bishop O'Dowd

Gibbs is a throwback power wing type of prospect whose burly and strong 6-foot-4 frame allowed him to earn at-rim buckets in transition. The rising NorCal-based senior bullied his way through contact and scored around the basket efficiently. I was surprised by how good of a shot blocker Gibbs was as he came over and erased shots as a help-side defender.

[player_tooltip player_id='2393367' first='Kametrius' last='Babbs'] | 2027 | Rainier Beach (WA)

In my opinion, Babbs was the best long term prospect in this event and I expect his recruitment to see a major bump over the next few months. The 6-foot-5 rising junior put on an impressive two-way display complete with deep three-point shots with smooth mechanics, slashing finishes at the rim and a couple of impressive dunk attempts. Babbs was also an impactful defender as he used his length and lateral athleticism to contain and pressure ball handlers on the perimeter then his vertical athleticism kicked in as he blocked and altered shots around the basket.

[player_tooltip player_id='2089522' first='Romyn' last='Waugh'] | 2026 | Oakland

Waugh is an extremely high upside prospect who, with the right fit at the next level, could evolve his skill-set, bolster his frame, and become a productive player at the next level. Right now, Waugh is as raw as they come but does possess a reliable three-point stroke off the catch and has the ball skills to drive closeouts and score at the rim. Waugh is a long, wiry and fluid 6-foot-6 wing.

Takeo McCrae | 2026 | Tualatin (OR)

McCrae's powerful downhill driving and physical finishing ability at the rim translated to efficient production at the Premier 80. The 6-foot-4 wing is a rebound, push and score threat who is tough to contain when he has a full head of steam. McCrae uses his strong upper body to get into the body of defenders and his balanced lower body to stay under control and score in the painted area.
