The early portion of 2025 off-season has featured the most active Pennsylvania “transfer portal” I can recall.

The exodus of players from George School continues as Kipper recently announced that this summer he is transferring to Life Center Academy in New Jersey. Kipper is a high IQ lefty who can knock home threes at an impressive clip. Plus, he possesses an extensive collection of head / ball fakes that when combined with a side dribble, enable Kipper to find open space for a three or a mid-range jumper. Kipper can also use his dribble skills to create opportunities for himself or teammates.

One of the top “glue guys” in the area is another player on the list of prospects who are departing George School this summer. For the 2025-26 season Melniczak has decided to take his talents to Malvern Prep and join a lineup that is ready to compete for the Inter-Ac title. Former George School Head Coach Ben Luber once described Melniczak as a “sleeper” prospect who did all the dirty work on the 2024-25 George School team. Last season, Melniczak posted 6.5 points and 4.5 assists per contest. This past winter he was also a major presence on the defensive end for George School. On the spring 2025 grassroots circuit Melniczak has displayed a highly accurate 3-point shot with logo distance range. He has also proven to be a high IQ transition player with a tremendous feel for when to score or distribute on the fast break.

During his standout junior season, Miles averaged 15 points per game and scored a season high 29 points (4 threes) against Freedom. In 2024-25 Miles helped lead Notre Dame Green Pond to a 19-7 record as well as the District 11-3A playoffs. Miles can serve as an elusive primary ball handler. Or he can slide to the two-guard and stretch the floor with his accurate 3-point shooting. Miles rebounds well for a guard and is an extremely switchable defender. This summer, Miles will depart Notre Dame Green Pond, transfer to Phelps School, and reclass into the 2027 graduate year.

Last year at State College Area High School, Yartz posted 15 points and 6 rebounds per game and was a 2nd Team All-Mid-Penn Conference selection. Yartz is a walking bucket who amassed over 1,000 points in his career at State College. He can shoot the lights out from behind the arc or put the ball on the deck and get to the cup off the bounce for a flush. Back in April, Yartz was named the MVP of the Altoona Mirror Classic. Last week, Yartz announced that will take a post graduate year at Perkiomen School.
