REDONDO BEACH — Last weekend's Summer Rumble at Redondo Union brought together a strong contingent of SoCal high school programs, many of which were using the event as a tune-up for Section 7 and the first live viewing period of June. Below we break down the rising junior and senior guards who might not be household names but should see their stocks rise this summer and into next season.

Chris Frazier | 2027 | Redondo Union

Frazier played a small role off the bench last season for Redondo's Open Division squad and it looks like he has carved out some more minutes heading into his junior season. Frazier is a high energy and effort player who was all over the offensive and defensive boards Saturday despite his 6-foot-2 frame. Frazier is a defense and hustle-oriented player who brings great value with his intangibles.

[player_tooltip player_id='2425679' first='Devin' last='Wright'] | 2026 | Redondo Union

Wright is among the best pure shooters in the state of California and is due for a major breakout season as a senior. The 6-foot-3 guard is lethal from three-point range in catch-and-shoot situations. Wright's ability to get his shot off in a hurry, high release point and great lift off the floor all lend to his elite shooting ability.

[player_tooltip player_id='2815175' first='Dominic' last='Loehle'] | 2027 | Heritage Christian

Loehle's role will be expanded this season as he looks to be the Warriors' best returning ball handler and decision maker. The 6-foot point guard brought a pass-first mindset to the floor Saturday and used his combination of vision, IQ, speed and strength to earn paint touches and create for teammates.

[player_tooltip player_id='1969520' first='Izaiah' last='Fiallos'] | 2026 | Rancho Cucamonga

If there's one thing you can count on with Fiallos it's that he will always bring effort, energy and toughness to the floor. The 6-foot-1 combo guard was attacking the basket with aggression and finishing through and around contact in the painted area. The rising senior is also a heady passer on his drives and kicked to open shooters consistently.

JC Corneille | 2027 | Rancho Cucamonga

Corneille transferred in to Rancho Cucamonga from Baseline League foe Damien and immediately brings a reliable ball-handling and creating threat to the point guard spot. The 5-foot-9 rising junior showed his quick twitch speed in transition and half-court offense that allowed him to put pressure on the rim. Corneille made high IQ decisions out of those paint touches on whether to score himself or find an open teammate.

[player_tooltip player_id='2131799' first='Nana' last='Ofoegbu'] | 2026 | Long Beach Poly

Ofoegbu is one of the state's premier on-ball defenders and with Poly making its inaugural trip to Section 7 this season, he will have his lightning quick hands on display on the big stage. The 5-foot-9 rising senior point guard has earned the title of a "lockdown" perimeter defender who speeds up and turns over opposing ball handlers but he's also a viable offensive creator and scorer with his vision and finishing ability.

[player_tooltip player_id='2131800' first='Quincy' last='Watson'] | 2026 | Loyola

Watson is one of the more underrated players in the loaded Mission League but that won't be for long if he continues to play as he did Saturday. The 6-foot point guard can score in a variety of ways but is best when using ball screens to get into an off-dribble jumper or to the rim where he surprises defenders with how athletic and physical he is when finishing at the rim.
