June 17-18 I watched the third ever Section-7 Qualifier. There were 96 teams in 6 pools of 16 teams each.

The 6 winners advanced to the official Section-7 June 20-22 versus some of the top teams on the West Coast.

I watched a bunch of full and half of some of the games. I obviously did not watch every team and when I watched, I am basing it on that performance and on the teams success combined.

Congrats to Arcadia, Centennial, Chaparral, Cienega, Dysart & Salpointe Catholic for earning spots into the weekends Section-7 Tournament.

Here are 7 top Newcomers I viewed

[player_tooltip player_id='2883775' first='Dylan' last='Hayes'] ALA Ironwood (Pictured)

A long and lean power forward with a ton of skill. He moves fluidly up the court and the Poston Butte transfer should be a true impact player immediately scoring the ball from inside and out with threes and put backs plus rebounding for them.

[player_tooltip player_id='2883785' first='Ethan' last='Sang'] Ben Franklin

The long and lean wing is another immediate impact player for the Chargers. He can score from all levels with deep threes, straight line drives to the basket but he will be a huge addition for them on defense covering a lot of ground and defending nearly every position for them.

[player_tooltip player_id='2884398' first='Kingston' last='Campus'] Salpointe Catholic

The bigger point guard gets his chance to lead the team with their starting point guard possibly out for the year. He uses his size to get downhill but has the skill to score with threes and pull-ups. He will compliment [player_tooltip player_id='2422763' first='Cameron' last='Hicks'] perfectly.

[player_tooltip player_id='2884401' first='Thomas' last='Nanson'] Chaparral

A strong forward can play a few positions with the 3-5. He works best in the painted area with a nice touch around the basket using his strength and skill muscling his way to the rim to score. He rebounds well and plays hard on both ends of the court.

[player_tooltip player_id='2884375' first='Tayshaun' last='Ambruster'] Paradise Honors

The Texas newcomer will turn some heads in Surprise. He has good speed, size for position, court vision and skill. He can hit the three and has the handle to create some separation to get his shot off or get to the basket for the two.

[player_tooltip player_id='2884695' first='Justin' last='Rushing'] Bourgade Catholic

An athletic and fluid wing forward with some size. He can defend multiple positions and score. He can shoot it from the perimeter but is best as a natural slasher using his length and bounce. I can see him becoming one of their go-to players by the end of the season.

[player_tooltip player_id='2885162' first='Jacob' last='Vasiloff'] Rancho Solano Prep

A bigger wing forward who transferred in from Cactus Shadows. He will help them with some scoring punch with threes off the catch but can create his own shot plus will rebound and even take charges. His size alone helps them at the smaller school with their lack of overall team size.
