We talk an elite 17u backcourt, [player_tooltip player_id='2381759' first='Reggie' last='Parker'], Showtime South and some extra notes!

Misegades & Witt - Minnesota 17U Backcourt Elite

When it comes to the most productive, successful and talent backcourt pairs in Minnesota 17u basketball, obviously [player_tooltip player_id='1560882' first='Cedric' last='Tomes'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1560867' first='Christian' last='Wiggins'] sit on top of the thrown. But after that....

you have to look at [player_tooltip player_id='1560827' first='Kale' last='Misegades'] and [player_tooltip player_id='2118495' first='Talan' last='Witt'] as next up. This D2 offered pair led their team to the 17u title this weekend and they are continually leading their to weekend titles: first it was the Comets Shootout, then it was the Scheels League title, and now it's the NHR State championship. Three weekends of bracket play basketball in Minnesota, three trophies.

[player_tooltip player_id='1560827' first='Kale' last='Misegades'] had 17 points and five assists while Witt had 18 points and six assists going against UND committed [player_tooltip player_id='1560781' first='Carter' last='Evanson'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1560798' first='Lucas' last='Gustafson'] in the title game. In the semi-final comeback win against Hoop Habits, Misegades scored 14 points and Witt had a dozen points and five assists battling that backcourt to have success.

Top two backcourt in 17u hoops in Minnesota? Most definitely.

[player_tooltip player_id='2381759' first='Reggie' last='Parker'] - Major Stock Riser

6'6/6'7 [player_tooltip player_id='2381759' first='Reggie' last='Parker'] of Minnesota Lace Up and Rochester Mayo is a guy that I think has taken his winter stock and exploded it into a higher level this spring. Parker was part of a balanced Rochester Mayo team that seemed to put their 2025-26 season expectations that others had for them... and put things into play for 2024-25! Parker averaged ten points and seven rebounds a game for that team.

This spring? Parker might be taking his winter numbers and pushing them even higher for Lace Up. Parker is using his length - I would guess about a 6'9 reach - to block and contest shots. He's using his agility to quickly get off the floor for rim finishes, tons of boards, and good lateral movement in paint help defense as well as good defense on ball screens. And that strength edge always comes into play.

I fully expect opportunity to come his way to play at several schools because at 6'6/6'7 few players have Reggie's combination of strength, explosion, length, and agility. Plus production! (He had 26 in the win over Minnesota Gold that we watched).

Showtime South

Showtime Elite won five games in the 17U Silver Division on the shoulders of some Big Nine players that have solid potential. On Saturday 6'3 Austin guard/wing [player_tooltip player_id='2175447' first='Dorar' last='Kuey'] had a 23 point game and then a 26 point game pushing this team into the final four. And he did that with 6'8 freshman-to-be Goy Lamdak running on the wing, a young and talented but raw player with length and athleticism playing up three levels.

Kuey had a four point play against the Minnesota Suns in the final moments that gave his team the win, and gave him 36 points for the game! Between Kuey, Lamdak and Jeremiah Soderlun, Showtime had a great weekend.

Quick Hitters

[player_tooltip player_id='2115658' first='Myles' last='Gray'] of the Comets had 11 points, 10 rebounds and a great defensive game in the 17u title game. His all around two way performance was equally as importantly as the Misegades/Witt playmaking in the 17u title game.

Six-foot-9 East Ridge/Hoop Habits big man [player_tooltip player_id='2175451' first='Graham' last='Sanneh'] regularly flashes some potential and he did that against the Comets knocking out a couple threes and scoring a dozen points against the length of [player_tooltip player_id='2100912' first='Stephen' last='McGee'].

[player_tooltip player_id='2851170' first='Jack' last='Welch'] of [program_tooltip program_id='2076005' first='West' last='Central Wildcats'] opened the game with Team Get Shook with two quick dunks, two rim finishes and then a three. He scored 17 in the win in front of a couple D3s and a couple D2s looking on early in the morning on Sunday.
