Here is a recap of the big men who made an impact at the Hoop Mountain Shootout.

[player_tooltip player_id='2391672' first='Jeffrey' last='Hassan'] Kaneland 6'9 2027

I watched Hassan from the side and even from afar he's an impactful rim protector. He just looked so massive with his length and ability to plug up the lane when anyone came near. Jeffrey has an enormous wingspan and is explosive off his feet. In the brief moment I watched he had a handful of rebounds and 3 blocks. When his offensive game starts to catch up he's a walking high major player in the state.

[player_tooltip player_id='1552404' first='Jake' last='Pollack'] Deerfield 6'8 2026

Pollack is a Dartmouth commit who played well in the last game of the event. He showed the ability to play in the interior and on the perimeter. He played better through physicality finishing tough buckets at the rim while being doubled at times. When on the perimeter he made a three off the catch and then the second time he made a shot fake and drove to the basket. Pollack is playing some good basketball at the right time.

[player_tooltip player_id='2369943' first='John' last='Morgan'] Crystal Lake South 6'7

John is a versatile big man who moves well for his size. He is nimble on his feet and shows above-average basketball IQ. He a big that can snatch a rebound and push the break if need be. When around the basket he can initiate contact near the rim and finish plays. When on the perimeter John can knock a shot down if you leave him open. He has a tremendous upside to his game and will be a problem in the state for the next 3 years.

[player_tooltip player_id='2860144' first='Ryan' last=''] Morgan Crystal Lake South 6'5

[player_tooltip player_id='2860144' first='Ryan' last=''] is the brother of John and shares all of the same qualities. He showed exceptional handles for a player his size on the perimeter. He can draw out a mismatch with an opposing big and take him off the dribble. [player_tooltip player_id='2860144' first='Ryan' last=''] showed flashes of his passing from the top of the key as he played point-center at times. The combination of [player_tooltip player_id='2860144' first='Ryan' last=''] and John could be a problem in the next couple of years.

[player_tooltip player_id='2842584' first='Sincere' last='Williams'] Metea Valley 6'8 2028

Williams is a solid big man who seems to be improving the more he plays. He was a load to keep off the glass at times. His patience to score on offensive rebounds was good and he has the size and length to be a dependable shot blocker. Sincere is a player to monitor as he gets more coordinated.

Darlin Aghomi Neuqua Valley 6'10 2026

Darlin is the epitome of space eating big. He's a wide 6'10 center who is still raw in some areas but has the hunger to get better. He is figuring out how to be a consistent rim protector. With some time and work if he develops a jump hook or a drop step move in the paint Neuqua Valley might have some plans for a state run.
