This article is a continuation of my last GASO Bryan piece and is a wings/forwards themed analysis. There was a LOT of unknown talent at this event who helped put themselves on the radar with key performances and clutch wins. Let's dive deeper into analyzing some wings and forwards who do more for their teams than just score!

[player_tooltip player_id='2555507' first='Zachary' last='Carpenter'] was a great piece for Team Bizness 17u this weekend as he impacted the game by crashing the glass, hustling for loose balls, and hitting open shots. Carpenter can function as a secondary ballhandler or a fastbreak outlet finisher for an easy bucket in the paint. Zach has a great motor and was a good vocal leader for his team on both ends as well.

Anthony Key is a very versatile big who is able to play as a secondary wing because of his ballhandling and shot making ability. Key is good at sealing his man off the post and getting a solid shot up over the defense. He is a good drive to the paint player off the pick and roll and has a good IQ when it comes to smart possessions on offense. Key has a lot of potential playing for an Atascocita program that figures to be at the top of the ladder for Houston again next season.

[player_tooltip player_id='2252157' first='Isaiah' last='Santos'] is one of the biggest names being mentioned in 2027 not just in Houston, but in the entire state of Texas. Santos provides a great all-around game and is able to guard positions one through five. He finishes efficiently under the basket, draws fouls upon driving to the paint, and is capable of hitting shots from midrange and three-point land. He has one of the best motors in the entire 2027 Texas class and puts it on full display when he is on the floor for JL3 16u EYBL.

[player_tooltip player_id='2554893' first='James' last='McCall-Spears'] was a force down low against the JL3 16u. Despite the loss, James had several good putbacks off the glass and was in prime position to alter shots any time the opponent came in the paint. He is a good transition outlet on fastbreaks and is an efficient finisher from anywhere inside the arc.

Playing for the HD Toros Elite last weekend, Alijah displays a great variety of scoring on offense from all three levels. Hubbard can create for himself off the dribble or drive to the rim and draw contact or finish over taller defenders. His long wingspan and quickness help him play passing lanes on defense and he is a good decision maker with the ball in his hands. Look for this prospect to make a lot of noise this summer and continue his momentum into the school season!
