It's June! The Scholastic Period has begun, meaning prospects across the Palmetto State are back with their High School programs for the next 30 days competing in various camps and events. Today I was in Florence, South Carolina, for Day One of the 2025 Francis Marion Team Camp. This event features some of the best teams the Palmetto State has to offer and some smaller, Lower-State schools that might not always get the coverage they deserve. Check out my five biggest standouts from Tuesday at the Francis Marion Team Camp:

Headlining my list of Biggest Standouts from Tuesday at the Francis Marion Team Camp is [player_tooltip player_id='1333159' first='Khristian' last='Bruce'] of nearby Wilson High School. He stepped up for the short-handed Tigers by putting up 7 points and 4 assists in a matchup with Blythewood. Bruce is an active defender who will get under the skin of an opponent with constant ball pressure. He also has a quick first step and handles the ball well at speed. Khristian displayed his scoring ability with a pair of creative mid-range jumpers.

Like Wilson, Lancaster was down one of their top players on Day One. Malik is the Bruins' leading returning scorer and can put the ball in the bucket from all three levels. He went for 10 points in a win over Goose Creek, including a go-ahead left-wing three in crunch time. Tinsley battled through contact, looked super quick, and made plays for himself and others off the dribble. Malik also chipped in with 2 steals in the game.

Speaking of the defensive end of the floor, this game is much different without the energy level that new Bruin [player_tooltip player_id='2631779' first='Jayen' last='Reeves'] brought today. Jayen is a new face to the Palmetto State after moving from Palisades HS (NC) and he left a great first impression on me in Florence. Reeves is a good on-ball defender and was a key piece of Lancaster's pressure. He also showed some good qualities on the offensive end including vision, handle, and shooting stroke with two made threes.

Charles is an intriguing Guard prospect who had a nice showing today. He is long and athletic but also possesses an impressive feel for the game. White has the ball in his hands often for this Swamp Foxes team and is often the guy they count on to get a bucket when they need it most. He has a nice pull-up mid-range game but can get to the free-throw line when shots aren't falling. In a loss to Sumter, Charles put up 14 points, 5 rebounds, 1 steal and 1 block.

[player_tooltip player_id='2456214' first='Ean' last='Mitchell'] rounds out my list of standouts from Tuesday in Florence. Mitchell is a true Point Guard who excels with the ball in his hands running the offense. He handles it well under pressure, understands angles to create space, and has a good crossover. Ean is also well-trained in the ability to play off two feet and Nash dribbles. Although he looks to get teammates involved first, Mitchell can also get himself a bucket within the paint with runners and floaters.
