DeKalb Live: 2026 Superb Swing Men

Prep Hoops Illinois was ready to take on a full slate of games from DeKalb Live action where many next level coaches were in attendance as well. Colleges and scouts from across the Midwest showed up to see what talent will be available over the coming years. I had the opportunity to witness all 3 days with plenty of talented play and skills being on full display. This years group of seniors are poised to make a noise for themselves across the state. Let's go ahead and breakdown some of the swing men of the class of 2026!    Lengthy wing that fits into the shooting guard spot well. Can fill the 2 or 3 at the next level. Runs the baseline efficiently in transition. Liked his tenacity to work within team's fast break opportunities. Moves without the ball at a good rate. Made a nice cut through and simple score in traffic. His agility will be effective this year and at the next level.     Good activity in multiple phases of the game. Made a great read off a screen to curl cut retrieve it and finish. Continuously moves without the ball. Battles on the glass using size effectively. Picked off a steal for an easy transition bucket. Effects he game in a positive manner for a well disciplined Husky squad.     Can play the 2 or 3 at the next level. Has good length and takes advantage of it defensively. Successful on tip passes and had 1 steal and take-a-way to the other end to convert. Made a couple sweet moves getting to the cup off a hesitation and another making a step back 10-foot mid range jumper. Will be a starting leg to a talented Raiders squad this coming year.     Could fill either the 2 or 3 roles. Offensively comes with a diverse skill set. Made a quick smooth baseline take through traffic and another between the legs take off the bounce into the teeth of the D. Hit a 3 in transition and runs consistently well in the break. Slippery to defend and comes with craftiness for the wing position.     Fills the 2 spot even keeled alongside a skilled point. Offensively attacked the openings well. Hit a runner in the lane and was active in transition. Uses length effectively. Got on the floor for loose balls. Knocked down a 3 off EOB on the catch. Lefty wing plays selflessly under control with maintained discipline.     Strong frame and will with an energetic motor. Shot it from beyond the arc at a solid clip in Sunday's contest. Knocked down multiple spot up 3's. Has at times more a forward's feel to his game. Likes to get out and push off misses and is comfortable handling it within that fast break phase. Possesses a competitor's edge that will make a positive difference.     High mobility at the 2 spot for one of the top 4A teams in the state. Dribbling skill level is there to fill handling responsibilities if need be. Sees the floor more like a 1 than a 2. At the next level you can play him at either or as a SF 3 man. Spreads it around effectively hitting guys cross court or pitching it ahead in primary break opportunities. Very versatile at the guard location. Spot up shooter and can certainly guard with good attitude on or off the ball.
