June 5th-7th I attended the 18th annual Best in Basketball Summer Invitational at Mesquite HS in Gilbert/AZ.

There were 28 local teams who played in one to five showcase games.

Here is the All-Tournament 5th Team:

[player_tooltip player_id='1633050' first='Sebastian' last='Hatsakorzian'] St. Mary's

A stronger wing point forward is a jack of all trades. He is a true two-way defender as he is on point guards on one possession then will defend post players. He is a high level rebounder with easy bounce and a motor. He passes the ball better then most with pinpoint ropes and will hit the three off the catch and pull-up off the dribble.

[player_tooltip player_id='2767427' first='Bronson' last='Hedges'] Campo Verde (Pictured)

A good sized wing forward is one fo the top shooters from the three point line off the catch. He comes with deep range and he is good inside to score using his size and is great on the break. He is a sneaky good passer and attacks the glass to rebound.

[player_tooltip player_id='1938807' first='Makenzie' last='Lazor'] Casteel

A taller forward with skill and athleticism. He can shoot the three off catch and work inside to score or get fouled. He cashes in from the free throw line and rebounds well and will block shots plus run the floor.

[player_tooltip player_id='2552787' first='Landen' last='Martineau'] Casteel

A puer point guard with a tight handle who plays with great pace and has high confidence with the ball. He hesitates well and will jet to the basket with his handle and speed. He will hit the three and uses his stronger frame and lateral quickness on the ball defensively.

[player_tooltip player_id='2107225' first='Mike' last='McIntyre'] Higley

The big man transferred in from Williams Field and he is a strong two handed rebounder as he collects many rebounds in and out of his area. He will block shots, run the floor and gets it back to score. He will straight line drive as he is very good using his shoulders, handle and size. He can even step out and shoot the three.

[player_tooltip player_id='2143671' first='Ashton' last='Musser'] St. Mary's

Another big man is a great rebounder in his area with strong hands using two hands. He scores it off of the pick and roll action, he shoots it from mid-range and will hit the three off the catch with a super quick release. His hands, footwork and skill get it done.

[player_tooltip player_id='1591738' first='Jeehzus' last='Pagan'] Boulder Creek

A pure point guard is a defensive facilitator. He bothers his opponents the length of the court and puts so much pressure on the opposing guards with his speed, quickness, toughness and reflexes. He scores with tough drives to the basket, threes off the catch and finds teammates in stride.

[player_tooltip player_id='1697292' first='Rylan' last='Parsley'] Sandra Day O'Connor

The tallest player on the team happens to be a bigger scoring guard or wing forward. He will score from all three levels with offensive rebound put backs using his size, fall aways from 8-feet, drive bys with and-1 takes, floaters, transition layups and threes with range.

[player_tooltip player_id='1694989' first='Brody' last='Postorino'] St. Mary's

The point guard of the team guides them with making plays and handles the ball pressure and makes the read. He will rattle in threes off the catch and defend the tougher guards on the other side of the court. He brings a cerebral approach and toughness to the team.

[player_tooltip player_id='2625032' first='Donovan' last='Richard'] Mesquite

A combo forward has an elite motor to rebound the ball in and out of his area. He scores it around the basket efficiently and can score with threes off the catch and get transition buckets with his left or right hand. He also happens to be a high jumper track and field stud.

[player_tooltip player_id='2427680' first='Conner' last='Tefteller'] Campo Verde

A pure point guard who can score. He attacks the basket with quick drives and takes contact well, hits from mid-range and the lefty can hit the three. He is a great passer up the court and will find a tighter space and slip the pass in off the pick and roll game.

[player_tooltip player_id='1876346' first='Sebastian' last='Vargas'] Eduprize

A highly skilled bigger scoring guard handles it well to create his own offense and he is a good passer seeing over the top of the defense. He will score with threes, fall aways in the post, dribble drives to score thru contact and pull-ups.
