It has been a few months since our last refresh of the 2026 SoCal rankings and with plenty of viewing opportunities under our belt – from club events to scholastic high school events – we put together a big update to the rising senior class order. Below we take a closer look at the newest additions to the rankings.

[player_tooltip player_id='2888798' first='Amare' last='Larane'] | Knight | No. 59

Larane checks in just inside the Top 60 and, after watching him over the weekend at California Live, I think he has a chance to continue rising up the rankings. The 6-foot-2 combo guard is a dynamic scorer, especially out of ball screen action where he uses his combination of burst and strength to earn paint touches and score craftily around the basket. Larane is also a consistent three-point shooter off the bounce going to his left hand.

[player_tooltip player_id='2888800' first='Eric' last='Gong'] | Fairmont Prep | No. 69

Gong is not only a new addition to the rankings but also to the Fairmont Prep front-court after transferring from Bishop Montgomery. The 6-foot-8 center is a skilled back to the basket scoring threat with high level footwork and soft touch around the rim. Gong is a big bodied five-man who seals off deep post position then uses drop steps, shot fakes and step throughs and simple right hand jump hooks to get to his scoring spots.

[player_tooltip player_id='2888810' first='Marlee' last='Sloane'] | Foothill | No. 83

Sloane is another transfer whose move will put him on a slightly bigger stage after moving from Costa Mesa to Santa Ana Foothill. The 6-foot-3 combo guard has shown a smooth feel for the game complete with the ability to create shots for himself and teammates as a primary ball handler but can also slide off the ball and made open catch and shoot threes or drive closeouts and score at the rim.

[player_tooltip player_id='2888811' first='Zach' last='Khatib'] | Redondo Union | No. 90 | Pictured

Khatib is a key rotational player at Redondo Union who is basically a de facto sixth man and brings effort, energy and three-point shooting to the floor. The 6-foot-3 shooting guard has a quick release in spot-up and off-movement situations and his combination of positional size and ability to elevate into a true jump shot make him a difficult player to close out. Khatib is also extremely active in the Sea Hawks pressure defense.

LeRoy Davis | Fairmont Prep | No. 97

Davis is a light's out shooter who is best in off-catch situations where he uses his shot-readiness and quick release to get a clean look in a short window. The 6-foot-3 shooting guard is a prospect who opposing defenses look to run off the line at all costs and whose ability to stretch the floor and bury deep three's in a hurry helped the Huskies win a Southern Section title last season.
