ZG Stars and Stripes Classic: varsity division all stars

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>This weekend, I attended Zero Gravity's Stars and Stripes Classic at Dana Barros Basketball Club in Stoughton, MA. I watched some of all three high school divisions (freshman, sophomore, and varsity), but of course didn't get to watch the majority of teams/players. He's lightning quick with the ball in his hands and has the rock on a string, too. The 6-foot-2 combo-guard was getting into the paint at will on Sunday and was able to finish above the rim when he entered the lane. He also has solid passing vision, though he took some questionable shots (it's AAU, so who doesn't?). The unsigned senior is going to be taking a PG year at Bridgeport Prep, he told me on Sunday. The 6-foot-5 wing has excellent hands and catches anything that comes his way in the paint, and he's a really good passer for his size and age; he found a bunch of backdoor cutters and wide open shooters on the perimeter. He can also shoot it from three and has some really nice finishing touch off the glass on drives. Bright future ahead for Gomez, who could definitely play in college in a few years. At 6-foot-7, he acted as an offensive hub for Level Up and did a good job finding other bigs for high-low situations as well as guards and wings for backdoor cuts and plays at the hoop. He stepped out and made a couple threes and also showcased some decent low post footwork and finishing. Defensively, he provides solid rim protection in the paint and is active on the glass. He's able to shoot it a bit from the outside, but he also excels with a head of steam in transition and as a finisher in the lane. And, as all Mansfield High School basketball players do, he moves the ball willingly and understands how to operate without the rock in his hands. Sera might have a hard time finding a college fit, but perhaps some D3's will take a chance on the senior. The 6-foot guard has some good lift once he gets near the paint and when paired with his solid touch around the hoop, he becomes an effective finisher. He can also knock down some three balls here and there and showed the ability to knock them down off the dribble as well. He should be a key cog for Medway High School next season.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block -->
