Expert Analysis
Kevin Daniels | Prep Hoops Scout
He showed strong defensive anticipation and created an on ball steal, playing with clear passion and energy. Offensively, he knocked down multiple catch and shoot threes from the top of the key and added a strong catch and finish dunk, impacting the game on both ends.

+11 (#126 to #115)
Bilolo, a guard out of Bridgeport Prep in Connecticut, rose 11 spots in this update and now sits at #123 overall. Bilolo has improved his stock as much as any prospect in New England since last spring, taking full advantage of his post-graduate year so far. The 6’2″ guard is a solid athlete that can really score the basketball, showcasing a quick first step as a driver and the ability to knock down shots in bunches from behind the arc. He’s hard to guard when he gets downhill, impressing as a finisher around the rim. Defensively, he has the potential to be really good on that end of the floor with his combination of length, lateral mobility, and a willingness to play physically at the point of attack.

Quiet for much of the game while Bridgeport got off to a nearly 20-point deficit, Bilolo stepped up when it mattered most to help his team come roaring back for a last-second championship win. The New Hampshire product scored all 16 of his points after halftime with 11 coming in the fourth quarter, none bigger than a tightly-contested corner 3 in the waning seconds to cut the lead to one and set up the ensuing game-winning sequence. A quintessential off-ball scoring guard, he knocked down a quartet of shots from long range, showing smooth, confident mechanics. Part of a deep, balanced Bridgeport perimeter attack, Bilolo should be hearing from programs across a variety of levels with his consistent production giving him a strong chance at a scholarship by the time the spring rolls around.

A strong athletic prospect with the ability to stretch the floor out to the three-point line. He rebounds well in traffic and excels in transition, finishing plays with explosive lob dunks. He will make a major impact this season.

I saw Bilolo for the first time last weekend, and I was shocked I hadn’t heard about him before. Perhaps it’s because he plays for an under-the-radar AAU team (Team Versatility) and goes to public school. But, he’ll certainly be known soon. The 6-foot-2 guard is going to Bridgeport Prep for a post-grad year next season and is going to wow college coaches with his explosiveness, especially in transition. He has a great handle while moving at fast speeds and can elevate with great body control at the hoop. Will be very curious how Bilolo adapts to the prep school level next season, and I could see him getting D3 and D2 looks if it goes as I expect it to.

Bilolo was probably the most impressive player I saw this weekend. He’s lightning quick with the ball in his hands and has the rock on a string, too. The 6-foot-2 combo-guard was getting into the paint at will on Sunday and was able to finish above the rim when he entered the lane. He also has solid passing vision, though he took some questionable shots (it’s AAU, so who doesn’t?). The unsigned senior is going to be taking a PG year at Bridgeport Prep, he told me on Sunday. That should be a great place for him to refine his skills and become a better college prospect.
