Zero Gravity States Standouts: Part 3

This weekend, I attended the Zero Gravity Massachusetts State Championships. I spent my time at Dana Barros Basketball Club on both Saturday and Sunday and tried to catch as many games as possible. As always, it's impossible to see and get a good read on everyone, so these are just some players that initially stood out. Below is part three.   <a href="https://prephoops.com/2025/05/zero-gravity-states-standouts-part-1/">Here is part one if you missed it.</a> <a href="https://prephoops.com/2025/05/zero-gravity-states-standouts-part-2/">Here is part two if you missed it.</a>    Marsh isn't going to wow you with quickness or jumping ability, but he's a cerebral combo guard who really knows how to put his teammates in effective offensive positions. Against the zone, he was making beautiful no-look passes to the middle, which opened up the entire offense. Against the man-to-man, he was a pocket passing machine and really excelled in the pick and roll. He also has some solid strength in the paint and was able to manhandle smaller guards with his toughness. Athleticism and size will likely limit Marsh's college recruitment, but he should have a really nice senior season at Londonderry High School.     Skehan is a super quick point guard who exudes “solid” on the basketball court. I didn't see him turn the ball over this weekend and he did an excellent job getting NE Storm into effective offensive actions. The lefty guard can shoot it from deep but also uses his handle and deceleration moves to get into the paint, and he had a couple really nice finishes in the lane amongst the trees. The 5-foot-10 guard is going to be knocked because of his size, but he should have a big junior season at Austin Prep and could probably find a D3 fit somewhere.     Agbekpornu was probably the best athlete on the floor for Storm — I was very impressed with his athleticism and motor. On both the offensive and defensive glass, the 6-foot-5 wing was relentless; nobody could box him out and he got tons of his own misses. Offensively, he did a good job getting to the paint and showed a solid-looking jump shot, but he definitely still has some growth in terms of understanding the difference between a good and bad shot. Agbekpornu is super raw, but I could imagine him ending up on a college roster somewhere and learning how to play team basketball.     I was impressed with McIntyre's feel for the game and skillset. The 6-foot-2 guard is great at moving without the ball and has awesome footwork, which allows him to be on-balance for all his shots. He also has an off the dribble game and can get to the rim pretty effectively but is super willing to make the dump down pass and swing the ball for his teammates if that's what's open. McIntyre was an honorable mention all star at Mansfield High School this season, and he should have a big senior year ahead.     Houle dominated the MIAA this season and I finally got to see why this weekend. The 5-foot-10 guard is super crafty with the ball in his hands and can use his handle to get by defenders and puncture the paint. He also had some really nice step back threes to make Mass Premier's game against NE Storm a really close one. His size and weight (or lack thereof) will definitely limit his college recruitment, but the Attleboro high school junior will have a huge senior season ahead and probably find his way onto a D3 roster if he can improve his strength and quickness.
