The annual CBG Memorial Day Showcase took place on Saturday in Richmond, featuring some of the top teams from across the state in a one day event full of high level bump.

With the event featuring a lot of the top independent teams in the state, there were plenty of prospects who made a name for themselves, just in time for the updated rankings coming out next month.

Here's a look at 7 players who were absolutely lights out from beyond the arc last Saturday.

Bowles wasted no time getting right to it, as the Massaponax guard caught fire early in one of the first games, knocking down three of the first four shots for Premier in their first game, all from deep. The 6'3” combo was able to move off the ball to get open, showing a smooth shooting stroke and deep range with the ability to make shots at a very high clip from deep. In the two games they played he hit three or more from beyond the arc in each of them, and with his ability to effortlessly stretch his range well beyond the line and also play on the ball and create off the bounce, he saw a lot of college coaches take serious interest in him.

Arrie McWiliams | 6'3” WG | Team [program_tooltip program_id='2416185' first='Loaded' last='804'] 17U

McWilliams continues to have a very good spring with 804, showing why he's one of the top shooters in the Richmond area at Hanover over the past few years, while also making an impact on both ends with his instincts and high motor. While a lot of shooters will look to get whatever shot up they can, McWilliams chooses quality over quantity, working hard to get open and it shows with his very high percentage from deep. He moves so well off the ball and can set his feet on the move, he can attack closeouts and hit the midrange pull-up, and his willingness to turn down a good shot for himself for a great shot for others is something that can't be overlooked.

Julius Hymons | 6'3” WG | Team Loaded 757 17U

Hymons was very impressive for a 757 squad that is chock full of talented wings, and coming off a breakout junior season in Green Run's Class 5 state championship run he's an intriguing two way player who can make shots that coaches should take a good look at. The 6'3” off guard showed his ability to drill it from deep making 6 threes in two games, and with his athleticism and length he projects as a “3 and d” prospect who could help a lot of teams at the next level. He worked well off the ball coming off of pin downs and through screens making shots on the move, he showed a quick release even when on the move, and he's able to work off the bounce too which makes him even more deadly as well.

[player_tooltip player_id='2459367' first='Shivas' last='Taylor'] | 6'3” WG | Higher Level 17U

Taylor is coming off a great junior season where he played a pivotal part in Highland winning the VISAA D-I state championship and the Elite Prep League regular season championship, and he's emerged as one of the top shooters in the DMV area. The 6'3” wing was absolutely lights out at the vent, and every time he got an open look you just assumed that it was going in. He has great form with a high arcing shot that was hard for defenders to challenge, he showed great range and always stayed ready to shoot the ball, and he showed a good motor as he was working relentlessly to get open.

Ben Boelle | 6'1” CG | Higher Level Purple 17U

Boelle had a good showing with Higher Level's Purple group, as he was highly effective as a knock down shooter and he showed a lot of savvy and a high IQ on both ends of the floor. Boelle showed that he can really knock it down with multiple three-pointers in both of their games, as he showed great spacial awareness and the ability to move to open spots to receive passes, and with a quick release he showed the ability to get shots off before closeouts as well. He's an underrated player in the NOVA area that small schools should really take a look at.

[player_tooltip player_id='2470566' first='Brady' last='Burnette'] | 6'3” WG | [program_tooltip program_id='2226307' first='Team' last='Loaded VA'] 16U

Burnette continues his impressive spring, as he's been the top shooter on this Loaded VA team that has been one of the best on the 3SSB Circuit in 16U, and he's been scorching nets the entire time. Nothing really changed for him at the CBG event, as he was shooting a great ball off the catch, as well as attacking closeouts and showing his ability to make good decisions when he gets defenders on pump fakes and forces the defense to scramble. He showed a lot of confidence being shot ready and he wasn't afraid to let it fly in transition or early in the possession, he showed good range and relocation ability, and he also showed improvement in his ability to create off the bounce as well.

[player_tooltip player_id='2470557' first='Dean' last='Williams'] | 6'4” WG | Team Loaded 757 16U

Williams had a great sophomore season for a very talented Catholic team as he continues to look like one of the best young players in the 757, and he helped lead Loaded 757's 16U group to an impressive 2-0 showing on the weekend as well. The 6'4” two guard showed his ability to fill it up scoring in double figures on both games, but it was his outside shooting that really stood out as he hit 7 three's in the two games. With his length he's able to shoot over late closeouts without much of an issue, he has great form and is able to set his feet on the move to let it fly, and he knocked it down at a high clip from deep and in the midrange.
