Here's a sneak peek into the upcoming 2029 rankings. These players seem to have set themselves apart and continue to trend upwards and into the top five.

1.[player_tooltip player_id='2869959' first='Alijah' last='Owens'] seems to be one of the most anticipated middle school players from WV in quite awhile. Owens has incredible size and athleticism as an 8th grader and appears to be ready to contribute immediately at a high school. His guard skills lends itself to putting him in that point guard or combo guard like spot but we could definitely see him progressing and growing into a wing with his shooting and finishing ability displayed already.

2. [player_tooltip player_id='2488810' first='Drew' last='Payne'] has reclassed and transferred from Sissonville to Expressions Prep High School program. Payne started at point guard at Sissonville and showed a strong skill set throughout the season and handled pressure against a AAA schedule. He'll now have a chance to mature another year and expand his development as a player.

3. [player_tooltip player_id='2633440' first='Izaiah' last='Jones'] is one of the best kept secrets in WV but that's not gonna last much longer. Jones has grown into a 6'6" frame before every donning a high school uniform and has many waiting with great anticipation to hear which high school he'll attend. Wherever that may be he'll likely have an immediate impact considering the lack of sizable players in WV currently.

4. [player_tooltip player_id='2527396' first='Owen' last='Jones'] is another transfer and reclass as he had made the move from Winfield last season to Teays Valley Christian. Jones like most on this list has great size, but what we've seen from him is a high level shot making at any spot on the floor. Jones did get plugged into the TVCHS high school lineup last year and performed very well.

5. [player_tooltip player_id='2332648' first='Caleb' last='Atkinson'] simply scores at a rate and pace that has been nearly impossible for almost every opponent to keep up with this past season. Finally I got to see him play in person in Pitt Jam Fest in April and he did not disappoint. With his guard skills and shooting ability it'll be tough for Williamstown coaches to keep him off the floor during varsity time this year.
