US Amateur HS State Championship Standouts, Final Five

This past month The Florida US Amateur High School State Championship took place, and there were a lot of great games being played and even more talent on display. Freshman through Seniors battled throughout the tournament to see who would take home the coveted hardware, and although there were only a few to be crowned champs, there were a number of prospects which stood out. So let's now take a closer look at some of those players who balled out over the weekend.    The 6'7" forward has the ability to score both inside and out. He has the size to score down low in the paint, but also has a smooth stroke from the outside. Pasch has a nice high and quick release, making it very difficult to block his jumper. His length allows him to guard multiple positions on defense, and is also a presence in the middle with his shot blocking abilities. Pasch is a smart player 2-way player who rebounds the ball very well on both ends of the floor.     Gonzalez continues to build and grow as a player each time I see him step on the court. He is an aggressive guard who likes to attack the basket but also has great court vision in finding his teammates. He is a gritty defender who won't back down from any assignment, and also rebounds the ball very well from the guard position. Gonzalez is a hard-working prospect who continues to elevate his game and make a name for himself throughout the area.     McCray is another prospect who continues to see his stock rise. He's a strong kid with good size, who just loves to play the game. The 6'1" CG can beat you off the dribble and attack the rim, where he has the ability to finish through contact. He is an above-average free-throw shooter, and can also knock down the 3-ball consistently. McCray is a hard-nosed player who is emerging as one of the top prospects in the class of 2028 in SWFL.     A true floor general each time he steps on the court, Boyle, loves to play the game with the ball in his hands. The 6'0" PG has a tremendous basketball IQ and is a prospect who never takes a play off. He has a smooth lefty stroke and can also beat you off the dribble and finish with contact. He is a tremendous passer who sees the court very well, and takes pride in being the facilitator on offense. Boyle is a gritty defender who has a knack for turning defense into offense.     Ropiza is a solid all-around prospect. He is a true team player, who does all the small things, and just wants to help his team win. He has good size and strength which allow him to guard multiple positions on D, and is also a big asset on the boards. He is a great catch shoot player, who knocks down the 3-ball at a very high rate. Ropiza also has the strength to finish around the rim, and is very efficient from the line.
