The best of the best on a weekend with little travel and a lot of basketball in a few local locations.

The Weekly Top Five!

(1) [program_tooltip program_id='2075672' first='Minnesota' last='Fury'] Antl

(2) [program_tooltip program_id='2075685' first='Minnesota' last='Select'] Ohnstad

(3) [program_tooltip program_id='2455790' first='Howard' last='Pulley']

(4) [program_tooltip program_id='2075672' first='Minnesota' last='Fury'] Reyes

(5) [program_tooltip program_id='2075674' first='Minnesota' last='Heat'] Conyers

Undefeated

[program_tooltip program_id='2455790' first='Howard' last='Pulley'] won all four of their EYCL games this past weekend rebounding from the opposite result a week ago in EYCL play. A very good turnaround beating PG Elite, Team Ramey, The City and a team from Europe, and three of the games were double figure wins

[program_tooltip program_id='2075672' first='Minnesota' last='Fury'] Antl won the Hard Work Region Finals. It took a couple overtimes to get the result but [player_tooltip player_id='1560747' first='Alex' last='Schroepfer'] led his team to five wins highlighted by the double overtime victory over Select. Fury also had an eye opening 20+ controlling win over Chapman who is a Nxt Pro team from Wisconsin.

Minnesota Lace Up was in the Minneapolis Showcase and they demolished a Wisconsin Swing team and Minnesota Lockown, they beat Sizzle Duberry by a point and beat Sizzle Cruz.

A Strong 3-1/4-1 Showing

[program_tooltip program_id='2075685' first='Minnesota' last='Select'] Ohnstad had a nice win over Rise in a well attended game by college coaches, Select beat an up and coming Heat Conyers team by 13 after a battle most of the game, and Select avenged a loss to Fury Reyes with an excellent defensive effort but falling to Fury Antl in two overtimes in a classic game.

[program_tooltip program_id='2075672' first='Minnesota' last='Fury'] Reyes earned four wins pushing to the Hard Work Region semi-finals with wins over a couple WOTN teams along the way. Another established showing that this is a top five area team in 17u, and they had some regular guests in the college crowd including teams looking closer at [player_tooltip player_id='2119593' first='Lars' last='Osteraas'].

[program_tooltip program_id='2075674' first='Minnesota' last='Heat'] Conyers ran their winning streak to 11 games before being knocked out in the quarterfinals by Select Ohnsatd. Heat Conyers gave Select a push for awhile but Select's talented backcourt was able to get the total to double figures after a competitive game. Heat Conyers looks better every weekend.

Minnesota Lightning grabbed three wins in four games over the weekend beating Heat Bluhm, WCU Regional and Crossfire Thompson with the lone loss coming to [program_tooltip program_id='2075867' first='SW' last='Minnesota Stars'] in a two score game.

The team that beat the Lightning, the Stars, made a nice jump after a 3-1 weekend (when it comes to the rankings). The Stars might have the best backcourt that you might not know about, in [player_tooltip player_id='2524646' first='Griffin' last='Epema'] and [player_tooltip player_id='2823917' first='Gunner' last='Liebl'].

Next Weekend!

It's NHR State. And the few teams that aren't playing, their players are jumping on other teams and playing. Just about all of the top talent will be there on some team as we celebrate the 13th NHR State Tournament (2020 of course did not have one, or it would be 14). The top 17u kids have been playing in this event all of their hoops lives since they were 11u kids, or even 10u kids playing up.
