Prep Hoops Live over the weekend was a great opportunity for our staff to see a ton of prospects from the state of Illinois which we will be breaking down all week. Here we examine Prep Hoops Live: 2026 PG New Names Emerge!

[player_tooltip player_id='2831357' first='Ricardo' last='Requena'] (All-In Athletics)

This guard popped on night one for AIA going for 17 points. Tough as nails guard that was willing to drive in among the trees for touch finishes. Also effective kicking to his teammates for scores. Poured in multiple mid-range shots and a three as well.

Reece Dumpit (Bardo Basketball)

So much fun watching this St. Charles East 5'6” guard go to work for Bardo Basketball. The small guard has shifty handles having it on a string all game long. Good reads in the pick/roll and put it on the money for shooters/finishers as a passer. Can also get buckets as he wasn't afraid to go in among the trees for tough shots along with being very good with the pull up game from 15 feet out to three.

[player_tooltip player_id='2864928' first='Jesse' last='House'] ([program_tooltip program_id='2075957' first='The' last='Work Foundation'])

Simeon 5'10” lead guard emerged as a plus shooting point guard that poured them in from all over the floor in the game we caught. Also was active defensively with his hands turning defense into offense.

Brayden Ablin (Illinois Stars)

Ablin is a 6'0” point guard from Plainfield South that scored 16 points in their victory. He is a nifty finisher around the cup with scoop shots and the occasional short pull up jumper. Also liked the intensity he brought at the defensive end of the floor as an aware and engaged perimeter defender.

[player_tooltip player_id='2532254' first='Jaymon' last='Hornsby'] ([program_tooltip program_id='2078449' first='Meanstreets' last=''] National)

Hornsby is a 5'11” point guard from Lincoln Way East that showed some flashes at Prep Hoops Live. He pushes the pace with his speed along with having a burst getting the cup. Showed glimpses as a shooter.

[player_tooltip player_id='2864704' first='Nyaire' last='Wright'] (Illinois Elite)

Wright went 4-5 from distance in their Sunday victory. The well built combo guard poured in 23 points in their Sunday afternoon win. This 6'1” Rockford Auburn guard is one to track this upcoming season.

Maurice Holland (Illinois Elite)

Holland brought intensity on both ends. Offensively he was in all out attack mode as the wiry 6'0” Rockford East guard won with speed going coast to coast and getting to the foul line. The athleticism also made its mark on the defensive end as he was like a little Patrick Beverly out there in the opposing teams grill creating havoc and turnovers.

[player_tooltip player_id='2397705' first='Noah' last='Therapos'] ([program_tooltip program_id='2075386' first='Chicago' last='Lockdown'])

This 5'10” point guard was very effective as a knock down shooter from the perimeter. Like him as a shooter at the lead guard spot.
