Liberty

Tayshawn Caesar is back from Florida and has been suiting up for the Patriots at the Border League Summer League. He should bring ball-handling, scoring, and defense to the table for them.

Da'aron Thompkins (from Spring, Texas) is a skilled forward that can make jump shots, 3's, and he gets to the cup. His versatility should also help Liberty on the defensive end.

[player_tooltip player_id='1463230' first='Tyus' last='Thomas'] has returned from Arizona and will be back with the Patriots next season. With him on board, Liberty should be one of the top contenders for the state title next year.

Bishop Gorman

Tyler Bright is now with the Bishop Gorman Gaels after playing for The Rock in Florida this past season. From what I have seen at the Border League Summer League, he has the ability to score inside and he can score second chance points when he comes up with offensive rebounds. He will also be asked to defend the rim with [player_tooltip player_id='2370259' first='Terry' last='McKinney III'].

Coronado

Amare Oba played the end of the high school season for Skyline Prep down in Arizona. He is now back in town and will be suiting up with the Coronado Cougars. The Cougars lost a few stars from last season, so he will presumably be a starter for them. If he can be both a scorer and facilitator for them, watch out.

Looking Ahead

5A should be even more competitive next year with these guys now in the mix. They are all talented prospects that could end up receiving D1 offers this summer at Section 7.
