Level Up Showcase Standouts

On Sunday April 27, PH NorCal was at Monterey Trail High School in Elk Grove, Ca. The Level Up Showcase was a one day event featuring teams from the greater Sacramento Area.    He's one of Sacramento's top prospects. Standing 6'5 he has a skill set that allows him to attack from different areas on the court. He has moves that gets him close to the rim off the dribble. He seems most effective attacking in transition. He can handle and move the ball, has 3pt range. He can have effect without scoring. He's a good rebounder.     He plays at a good pace going up and down the court, handling, pushing the pace, passing up, or finishing, he'll go coast to coast. He can get by defenders with a first step along the perimeter to finish through contact or a paint jumper. He jumps well to get rebounds and tap ins. He got hot shooting 3's at this event. He has some defensive qualities. Consistency is key for him. 14.5p, 4.6r, 3.8a during the high school season.     West has the size and length to be a stretch 4 type prospect. He has work to do, but he can spot up in the corners and at the top to shoot 3-pointers. He's still filling his frame, and getting stronger. He's running the court better. He'll get his share of rebounds, and get points in the post on put backs, and posting up at times. He can pass and screen from the high post.     He's a newcomer we'll add to the rankings next time around. He shoots the ball well from the 3-point line. heaveraged 14pts, 5 rebounds for his high school team. He handles well enough along the perimeter to drive it. He made 3's from the top, sides, corners and coming down in transition. He has good form, and release. We'll see more.     Walker is emerging and could be ready for a breakout Spring. He has the tools to be a regular contributor. Good size, an improved skill set to get a basket from different areas. He can work along the baseline, high post, he'll finished at the rim, in transition with authority at times. He showed he could hit the 3-point shot.       He's a good size prospect who did different things when the opportunity was there. He hit a couple of corner 3's, ran the court for transition buckets. He worked along the baseline finshing drives at the rim, showing some toughness around the basket. He defended hard in the paint got rebounds and a couple of blocks.     He's a feisty point guard that can score off the ball as well. He's kind of an annoting on all defender getting under the ball handlers skin, bumping, and grabbing while applying ball pressure bringing it up court. He has quality handles, decent speed, he can get to his spots for mid-range, and paint jumpers, along with floaters. 11 points a game, with 4.5 rebounds, and two steals with his high school team.
