<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2808517' first='Aidyn' last='Derr'] -</strong> "<em>All-District Player. He was All-District as a sophomore as well. Aidyn really improved at getting his shot off quickly. His release was so quick which made him difficult to defend. He was also the guy we wanted the ball in his hands when the other team pressured us. He has great court awareness. He anticipates well on defense. He took 6 charges against South Prairie this year. Aidyn was a great leader for our team and will be greatly missed. He had a great career. We are excited to see what the future holds for him.</em>"</p>

<p><strong>Jayden Nelson - </strong>"<em>This is the first season that Jayden has been healthy the whole year since his freshman season. Jayden had a breakout year and did what we have been expecting from him. Jayden has always been a good shooter but really got stronger this year and could bully his way to the rim when he needed to. At the end of the year, Jayden was defending the other team's best guard. Jayden will be missed next year as well.</em>"</p>

<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2099400' first='Jameson' last='Borgen'] - </strong>"<em>Jameson had a great year. He utilized his size well and played off our guards when they would create open looks for him. Jameson shot the ball at a 65% clip. He improved so much that teams were double teaming him at the end of the year. He was a game changer on the defensive end. He didn't have as many blocked shots this year as he wanted but he sure changed a ton of shots when he didn't block them</em>. </p>

<p>"<em>We had the most fun that we have had in a few years. The boys played in what I would consider the toughest District and Region in Class B. Every night was a battle. If you look at the number of wins, then some wouldn't consider it a successful year. However, we did a lot of things well and got better throughout the season. The kids have a bright future ahead of them after they graduate.</em>"</p>

They had a great work ethic and were truly great leaders to our younger players. They may not have won many games over their career but we sure had fun. We are going to miss the scoring that [player_tooltip player_id='2808517' first='Aidyn' last='Derr'] & <strong>Jayden Nelson</strong> brought this year. Those two put up all region numbers this year.</em>"</p>

If he puts time in the offseason, he will have a good year for us next year. We are going to be Junior & Sophomore heavy next year. It will come down to who gets in the weight room and develops themselves as a player. They are all about the same skill set.</em>"</p>

We played a very tough out-of-District schedule, which allowed us to play many high-level teams, but we weren't able to compete in those games as we would have liked to.</em>"</p>

<p>"<em>We had 7 seniors on the team who all brought a little something different to the team, and every night it was someone different who would step up it felt like. These guys were good upperclassmen who treated our younger players like little brothers, helping them constantly grow and get better. They were also guys who cared more about winning and the betterment of the team than themselves, and as a coach, that is something you really can't coach or teach.</em>"</p>

<p>"<em>[player_tooltip player_id='2689812' first='Jacob' last='Zorn'] was a 6'4" Sophmore who when healthy, was a difference maker and a playmaker on both ends of the floor for us. His ability to be a consistent shooter while still rebounding and playing defense was big for us as he got healthy towards the end of the season. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2863718' first='Tygen' last='Michalenko']</strong> an 8th grader, was a role player who was able to spare our starting PG Semie for several minutes a game, and we are hoping next year he develops into an even better combo guard as we lose much of our scoring from this year.</em>"</p>

<p>"<em><strong>Ryan Schoemer</strong> (SR Guard) was one of our most consistent defensive players. He isn't very tall, but he is a very strong kid who has quick feet. He didn't allow his guy to drive on him or get in the paint, but was also quick enough to recover out on his guy if he was a shooter.</em>"</p>

<p><strong><u>PHD: Who was your top interior player?</u></strong></p>

<p>“<strong><em>[player_tooltip player_id='2689798' first='Peyton' last='Helwig']</em></strong><em> was starting C for us, and he is a strong and athletic young man. He crashed the boards hard, and offensively he was able to step out and hit midranger jumpers and by the end of the season we were comfortable with him shoot 3 pointers if open. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2689810' first='Maddox' last='Chrest']</strong> and <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2689812' first='Jacob' last='Zorn']</strong> were our other 2 bigs who came off the bench for us who always seemed to provide a spark on the defensive end, and offensively they seemed to get 2-3 baskets a piece off of rebounds or basket cuts</em>.”</p>
