May 2nd-4th I attended the annual Bash in the Desert at the Phhacility and Cortez HS locations. It had exactly 60 teams total and I watched almost every team in 17U and 16U and some of the 15U teams to form a good opinion of the field.

Here is my 8th team All-Individual Teams for 17U:

[player_tooltip player_id='2853428' first='Bret' last='Babik'] Kamiak/WA (PNW Rain 17)

A combo scoring lead guard can score it with off the dribble threes and mid-range pull-ups. He will catch and shoot from the perimeter but also burst past his defenders with a nice handle and a little speed.

Darrion Brown SG 5'11 2025 Jesse Bethel/CA (Team Rampage 17)

An undersized shooting guard will score it multiple ways. He will get downhill and score and-1's in the lane thru the contact or earn trips to the free throw line. He will rattle in threes off the catch with a quick release and brings big energy to the court.

[player_tooltip player_id='2456141' first='Bryan' last='Coleman'] Sequoia Pathway ([program_tooltip program_id='2144495' first='Team' last='Elevate'] 17)

A newcomer for me is a long and lean point guard who will pass it up the court. He can burst to the basket with his right hand using a quick first step. He is a capable perimeter shooter but likes to touch the paint.

[player_tooltip player_id='2674671' first='Nygel' last='Lindsey'] Cortez (AZGorrilaAZ 17)

A long and rangy wing forward can handle it and score. He will score with downhill takes with some contact and will hit the catch three. He will fall away from his defender from 10-feet and in and rebounds well.

Eieko Muckleroy PG 6'0 2025 Edison/CA (Team Rampage 99 17U)

A scoring point guard can facilitate and score. He has a polished floater game and can shoot the three. He has a tighter handle with some shift to get a step and blow past his defender and use the tear drop.

[player_tooltip player_id='2854671' first='Jonathan' last='Ortiz'] Deer Valley (AZGorrilaAZ 17) (Pictured)

A savvy real point guard with pace and he plays well beyond his years as only an eighth grader. He will throw up the court passes and has good size and length. He is a capable perimeter shooter but loves to facilitate after he gets downhill and will find a teammate. He will be on varsity sooner rather than later.

[player_tooltip player_id='2855919' first='Tyce' last='Pribyl'] Sandra Day O'Connor (AZ Select 17 James Bronze)

A wing forward has great hands and keeps plays alive with his motor and IQ around the basket. He has a soft touch to score it on put backs and has a nice hook shot. One of those players who affects a game with his toughness and grit.

[player_tooltip player_id='2853431' first='Zane' last='David Rucker'] Kamiak/WA (PNW Rain 17)

A long and lean guard/wing gets to his spots off the dribble and will rise up quickly. He has a sneaky quick burst to the basket and he made multiple tough shots off the glass and showing great body control in the air. Once he fills in and gets stronger, he will be tougher to handle.

[player_tooltip player_id='2427680' first='Conner' last='Tefteller'] Campo Verde ([program_tooltip program_id='2422356' first='3D' last='Hoops'] 17)

A pure point guard is almost a throw back old school PG. He is always thinking to pass first then to score. He will drive and kick into a teammates shooting pocket but he can burst into the lane and use a polished floater game.
