Weekend Look Back: Underclassmen Standouts from Omaha action

Guenther had one of the best weekends of any player during the Omaha session. Down 20 points with 10 minutes left in the game, Ryan took over the game on both ends, racking up steals and buckets to lead his [program_tooltip program_id='2135066' first='Nebraska' last='Supreme'] team to a win over Team Haliburton.   Guenther showcased his athleticism and active hands-on defense as a point of attack defender for his team's press. He read passing lanes and cornered ball handlers into several turnovers.   On the offensive end he converted those turnovers into points around the rim finishing with both hands through traffic.   Guenther has a smooth lefty jump shot and is a reliable shooter, especially off the catch. He could get a little more rotation on the ball however.   Ryan also showcased his court vision, making passes with both hands off a live dribble and finding shooters for kick-outs.   Guenther finished the game with 22 points, 17 in the second half, including a half-court heave to send the game into overtime.     Jameson Shea was one of the best shooters, regardless of class, during the Omaha session. He consistently knocked down shots off the catch and off the dribble.   While he is a great shooter, he would be categorized as a scorer as he showcased his ability to to drive by defenders and draw fouls.   Shea helped lead his team to a 20-point comeback with 27 points, including all his team's points in overtime, including his two free throws to end the game.     [player_tooltip player_id='2617616' first='Jett' last='Samson'] was an effective scorer during the Omaha session from all three levels.   Samson is a reliable shooter from deep who always seems to find himself open around the perimeter. His gravity creates space for his teammates giving, them wider driving lanes.   Jameson is a strong physical driver who seeks out contact. He can finish with both hands around the rim, including creative finishes around defenders.   He is a capable passer who makes the right read   He is a good defender who holds up well on the ball, cutting off ball handlers, making them uncomfortable.     Brevin Meyers is a knock-down shooter whose capable of rattling off multiple threes in a row.   In the Omaha session, Meyers had a 22-point outing, 20 of which came in the first half on six made threes. He is a deadly catch-and-shoot threat who can shoot it from range.   Brevin is especially effective as a cutter finding, soft spots in the defense at the right time.   Meyers is expanding his game, he is improving as a playmaker as well as becoming more well-rounded as a scorer.
