SEPA Transfer Watch 2025: Episode IV

Elite prospects from southeastern Pennsylvania (and beyond) continue the annual ritual of transferring high schools. With the NCAA transfer portal jamming up high school recruiting, we expect there will be a host of extremely talented players who switch schools this spring / summer. Many of them will reclass into a later graduate year.   At Prephoops.com we will do our best to track all the player movements and pass that information on to our readers.   Below is the fourth installment in our Transfer Watch 2025 series.    Gilbert spent the 2024-25 season at La Salle CHS where he appeared in fourteen games. This hybrid guard-forward prospect owns a high IQ, an accurate jump shot and crafty passing skills. Gilbert can drain threes as well as baseline and mid-range jumpers. His court vision and passing instincts enable Gilbert to work as a distributor from the high post or the perimeter. Gilbert runs the floor well and can finish through contact, so he can also score via the secondary break. Gilbert is a plus rebounder at both ends too. In addition to transferring to Haverford School, Gilbert will be reclassing into the 2027 graduate year.     Ruch is a point-forward prospect with length and extraordinary versatility.His ability to grab a defensive rebound and then push the rock on the fast break for a lay-in or assists is impressive. Ruch can also pop threes and score on post ups as well as dives to rim. His size and positioning skills enable Ruch to work the offensive glass for points too. In the half-court Ruch can use his crafty handles to create for himself and teammates. His size allows Ruch to see over the top of defenders and find cutting teammates with well-timed dimes. During his sophomore campaign at Red Lion, Ruch averaged 3 points per game. He posted a scored a season high 7 points against Dallastown. Ruch will transfer to Mercersburg and reclass into the 2028 graduate year.     After considering a handful of DI offers, Vigo has decided to take a post graduate year at national powerhouse Phelps School. Vigo (22 ppg. last season; 1,500+ career points) is one of the most explosive perimeter scorers in southeastern Pennsylvania. In 2024-25 this ridiculous athlete with electric off the dribble scoring moves posted performances of 42 points (3 triples) as well as 35 points (1 three). In addition to his relentless attacks on the rim, Vigo is a three-point sniper who owns deep range. After his epic senior season, Vigo was named the East Penn Conference POY. Vigo is also a member of Puerto Rico's national team program.     Watson is a native of Great Britain who will add high percentage perimeter shooting and a secondary ball handler to the Mercersburg lineup. He is especially effective as a spot up shooter on the wing or in the corners. If a defender closes out too quickly, Watson will put the ball on the deck and get into the lane for floaters, runners and lay-ins. College coaches will love Watson's ability to kiss tough angle shots off the glass. The high IQ Watson can also attack the rim and then drop a dime to the dunker spot.
