Phenom Grassroots Tip Off Classic: Out of State Standouts

I was back on the road this weekend for the first two days of the Phenom Hoops Grassroots Tip Off Classic in Rock Hill, South Carolina. It was an action-packed slate featuring some of the Southeast's most talented prospects and best teams. He headlines my list of North Carolina Standouts after a key showing for [program_tooltip program_id='2226228' first='Team' last='CP3'] in their high-level matchup with Upward Stars SE. Mason's playmaking and switch-hunting are both well above where they stand for most prospects at this stage. Collins also rarely settles for bad shots and is comfortable scoring at all three levels. He has great range on both ends of the floor, intriguing length and athleticism. I was only able to keep up with his stellar Junior Season from afar, so he was one I wanted to check in with in person this weekend. Neal also opened some eyes in Rock Hill with his ability to make plays for himself and others. Dionte ran the show in CP3's dominant win over Drifty Elite by executing sets with rare errors. He also displayed quickness, strength, a nice floater game, and good feet on the defensive end. Stephano has a unique combination of length and athleticism - one that should be tantalizing for College Coaches. Although he nor his team had their best performance on Friday, it was clear to see his long-term potential. He continued that play into the Phenom Grassroots TOC including a 6-point, 7-rebound game in a matchup with Play Tough 843. Although he projects as a 3 long-term, Ahmir showed versatility by playing the 4 and 5 in this game. I watched Cam and Company in Friday's Tournament opener against PCH and they edged out an 85-83 win. Cam went for 12 points and 5 assists in the game, displaying good positional size for a true Point Guard. Three of his assists were early in the game as Tru Elite jumped on their opponents. Winnegan is also a creative finisher around the rim and must be respected as a shooter.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block -->
