NERR Unsigned Senior Showcase Standouts: Part 2

NERR held an event on Monday, April 21st, at Emmanuel College in Boston, MA for seniors and post grads who are currently unsigned to a college roster. There was tons of talent in the gym and a plethora of coaches from all levels on hand to watch. I had never even heard of Elbeik before Monday, but he was one of the more impressive prospects I saw at the showcase. The 6-foot-6 wing/forward moves incredibly well for his size and can score from three levels as a result of his nice-looking shot and ability to handle the rock on the perimeter. He has great athleticism and verve to his offensive game and can really take advantage of whoever is guarding him, whether they be too big and slow or too small and weak. Not sure what Elbeik's recruitment looks like, but I can't imagine there weren't a handful of college coaches at the showcase who were quite impressed by his combination of size and skill.     Clark is a strong-bodied combo guard/wing that really knows how to put the orange ball in the hoop. He has a deep bag of pickup moves that he used to get to different finishing situations in the lane, and he showed off some really nice touch and body control around the rim. He's also an above-the-rim finisher when he has a head of steam and can hold his line really well on drives to the rack. Some improvements to his facilitation would be massive for his game. He should be getting some D2 looks as a result of his size and strength, as well as his ability to create his own shot.     Green was one of the freakiest athletes I saw at the showcase. The 6-foot-3 combo guard is an absolute blur in transition and can get by opposing defenders with utter ease. He has an incredibly quick first step and uses his off hand well once he gets any semblance of space. When he gets a head of steam in transition, he's like a bulldog running full speed at the rim but somehow still handling the ball with confidence and comfort. Green showed off some nice passing ability, too, although he took some questionable shots and could probably lean into his facilitation a little bit more (it's a showcase, so this is to be expected).     Oldperson-Harlow is a cerebral combo-guard who can stroke it from deep and make the right play for himself and his teammates. He understands floor spacing and ball movement and is able to play with tons of different types of players, and he has a quick shot release which makes him an excellent spacer. He won't wow you with quickness or athleticism but his size allows him to burrow his way into the paint at times. I would imagine lots of D3 schools are super interested in Oldperson-Harlow.     I've previously only ever seen Losiewicz play with his Newman squad, which is one of the best prep teams in the country -- he doesn't get too many on-ball reps in that environment. But at Monday's showcase, I saw a whole different part of his game. He's a great ball handler and shooter who can score from all three levels, and he uses his strength to overpower other guards in the paint. The 6-foot-3 guard also has some really impressive hops and can sky at the rim for putback dunks -- his timing and rebounding for his size is very impressive. I could see Losiewicz playing at the D2 level, or at least being an excellent D3 player.
