GPCEC Standouts: 2026 Eye Catchers

GPCEC hosted an impressive collegiate showcase at Palm Beach Atlantic University on April 19, 2025. The event featured over 20 collegiate coaches and programs who guided players through various drills and games. This was a fantastic opportunity for players seeking recruitment opportunities, as many talented athletes were present. We will focus on players from the classes of 2025 to 2028. Additionally, there were some exceptional collegiate players in attendance. Below are the standouts from the class of 2026 who are currently available.    Sanders has good size and showcases a finesse style of play, though he also incorporates tough shot-making into his game. He demonstrated a solid pull-up jumper, exhibiting significant elevation on his shot and a high release point. This allows him to shoot over most defenders, as he frequently faces smaller players when positioned on the perimeter. Additionally, he rebounds well, capitalizes on easy putbacks, and stays active, never lingering around idly.     Goldwire plays at his own pace and maintains control. He has a strong understanding of the game and effectively reads the floor. While he is an effective floor spacer, he excels when he has the ball in his hands, reading screens and taking advantage of defenders who go under the screen. He can also punish defenders with his jumper when there are late switches. Goldwire appears ready to compete at the next level.     Gray traveled all the way from Ohio, and the trip proved worthwhile as he played exceptionally well. His size and skill posed challenges for most defenders. He easily scored around the rim, skillfully maneuvering through and around opponents. Gray effectively made open shots when necessary and excelled on defense by securing rebounds. Additionally, he is capable of initiating fast breaks. With his soft hands, he can catch nearly any pass that is relatively close.     Bates, at 6'8", walked through the door and quickly made his presence felt by frequently getting to the rim during skills and drills, finishing with rim-shaking dunks. In games, he excelled at rebounding on both ends of the court. He tracks the ball well in flight and runs the floor effectively. When playing alongside willing passers, he has the potential to be a significant impact player.     Soto was a player who participated in both sessions. The additional opportunities provided by the second session helped him stand out. Having the chance to go through the drills again allowed him to demonstrate his leadership by taking the initiative to get to the front of the line. He performed well in the games, having become familiar with the pace of play. He showcased a bit of everything: had good shot selection, played solid defense, kept his teammates involved, and grew stronger as the day progressed.
