Bates is putting together quite an impressive season in this his first with the Bears. He’s helped lead them to 12-2 record, and has been producing night in and night out. At 6’8″ he can beat you down low, but also has a nice touch from the outside where he shoots the 3-ball at a high rate. He’s posted multiple 20+ point games and through 14 games is averaging 13.6 ppg and 7.3 rpg.

The leading scorer for Palmetto Ridge at 14.2 points per game, Bates is a long, lanky wing with high level size. He is a solid shot maker with range beyond the arc and can pass and handle the ball, especially for his size. Continued physical development will be key, but Bates’ combination of size and skill make him an intriguing prospect at the next level.
