Annually the Chi-Town Tip Off is a must attend event for competition and coverage for Illinois teams. This year was no different. PHI had all five of our scouts in the gyms for this event. We continue our examination of the prospects here in Chi-Town Tip Off: 2026 Illinois Guard and Wing New Names!

[player_tooltip player_id='2875754' first='Charlie' last='Ellis'] ([player_tooltip player_id='2391665' first='Kessel' last='Heat'] 17U)

Ellis put his name on the map with a big time shooting performance on Friday night. The Loyola shooting guard can really bomb them in at a high rate which he did especially off the catch. Scrappy player that can mix in some layups as well.

[player_tooltip player_id='2837356' first='Casey' last='Kaczmarski'] (Illinois Hoopstars 17U)

This point guard was an outstanding passer when we saw him. The Huntley lead guard dimed up his shooters and big men all game long. Made both the flashy and simple passes.

Amare LeFlore ([program_tooltip program_id='2075957' first='The' last='Work Foundation'] 17U)

This Hyde Park guard showed intriguing qualities with his ability to win off the bounce for creative layups and floaters in the paint. Also got to the line at a high rate.

[player_tooltip player_id='2826185' first='Kenneth' last='Leaks'] (Illinois T-Wolves 17U)

Strong showing from Leaks who is a 6'3” athletic scoring guard. Lived in the lane with burst on his first step, turn around jumpers, and was a capable three point shooter with his lefty shot.

[player_tooltip player_id='1874668' first='Adin' last='Smajlovic'] (Illinois Hoopstars 17U)

The 5'11” Mather scoring guard can really fill it up. Creative layup maker that consistently got to the paint off the dribble or on cuts off the ball catching it and scoring all in one motion. Also proved to be an adequate drive and kick distributor.

[player_tooltip player_id='2821689' first='Kendall' last='Bosby'] ([program_tooltip program_id='2075515' first='Hoops' last='4 Health'] 17U)

Bosby was the breakout player for H4H this weekend. The Joliet West wing has a long and lanky frame as a 6'3” two guard. Got to the foul line and was extremely impactful on the defensive end getting steals and blocks. Flashed a smooth looking perimeter jumper.

[player_tooltip player_id='2399391' first='Owen' last='Carroll'] ([program_tooltip program_id='2075386' first='Chicago' last='Lockdown'] 17U)

This Lyons shooting guard is a lefty that brings a good overall skill level to the table. He scores off movement on cuts to the rim along with catch and shoot threes with a nice left handed stroke.

[player_tooltip player_id='2813043' first='Kyle' last='Irwin'] ([program_tooltip program_id='2075527' first='Ignite' last='Hoops'] 17U)

Irwin is a 6'3” two guard from Hersey that has a thick frame. He scored in transition a ton in the game we saw. Nice combination of skill and physicality at the guard spot.

[player_tooltip player_id='2409690' first='Chase' last='Honore'] (Hoopademix 17U)

Intrigued with this small forward from St. Ignatius. Long armed and thick bodied wing that plays with physicality. He pounded the offensive boards, scored out of the post, and won off the bounce at a good clip.

[player_tooltip player_id='2461655' first='Glenn' last='Harper'] (Hoopademix 17U)

Plainfield South strong wing with good length. He really shot it well in the game we saw pouring in an array of three balls.

[player_tooltip player_id='2414164' first='Jalen' last='Clardy'] ([program_tooltip program_id='2078449' first='Meanstreets' last=''] National 17U)

Yet another power wing here. The Bremen 6'2” product is an explosive downhill slasher that gets to the rim with strength. Rebounds well, scores in transition, and gets to the line.

[player_tooltip player_id='2454180' first='Brady' last='Hairald'] ([program_tooltip program_id='2075524' first='IBA' last='Illinois Stars'] 17U)

This Minooka guard continues to impress. The lefty can really fill it up from distance which he did for [program_tooltip program_id='2075524' first='IBA' last='Illinois Stars']. Was a bit of a known name coming in, but really elevated his stock in our eyes with his play. Lights out perimeter shooter that plays with a ton of toughness fighting through an injury while carrying his team to a win.

Charlie Wizgrid ([program_tooltip program_id='2075386' first='Chicago' last='Lockdown'] 17U)

The Brother Rice 6'2” shooting guard filled it up scoring off movement, hitting threes, and getting put backs as a guard. Also really liked how he competed as a defender on the perimeter.

Sam Golden ([program_tooltip program_id='2076267' first='Powerhouse' last='Sports'] 17U)

Golden was very good when we saw him on Sunday. The 6'2” shooting guard poured in feathery threes one after another. Free and easy shooting stroke that he gets off quickly. The Loyola guard displayed good basketball instincts along with his lethal shot making!
