On April 5th I attended the annual Arizona Club Basketball League at ALA West Foothills. I watched six games with 8 different teams locally plus a California team.

Here were the 2026 Standouts I viewed

[player_tooltip player_id='1763219' first='Jason' last='Shelton'] Canyon View (AZ Venom 17) (Pictured)

A scoring point guard just got back after a full year of missing basketball with a torn ACL. It was great to see him on the court as he scores with euro takes, step thru floaters using great body control in the lane, threes and pull-ups. He will have a breakout season next year in the West Valley.

[player_tooltip player_id='2396146' first='Ethan' last='Graves'] Palo Verde (Team RHJ 17)

An athletic power forward runs the floor well and will wall up to defend inside and moves well in space to defend on the perimeter. He will score it in the paint with and-1's in traffic plus rebounds well in his area.

[player_tooltip player_id='1591734' first='TJ' last='Harris'] Liberty (Factory 17)

A quick on quick scoring point guard has a super tight crossover. He can use his burst and speed and get to his spots into a mid-range pull-up. He is tough on the break making the contested layups using plus body control.

[player_tooltip player_id='2466067' first='Adrian' last='Stubbs'] Maryvale (Factory 17)

A walking bucket is one of the tougher undersized guards in the state. He will score with dribble drives thru traffic with an and-1, transition buckets with some contact using his sturdy frame and threes. His first step is tough to handle as he had multiple blow by's and can crow hop to score in traffic. He is also a great passer as he can thread the needle. He had a day high of 31 points.

[player_tooltip player_id='2339084' first='Samuel' last='Kalikilwa'] West Point (Factory 17)

A true two-way shooting guard using his length and athleticism to keep his opponents in front of them. He will score with offensive rebound put backs, he can take a rebound off the glass and push it and then make a play for a teammate.

[player_tooltip player_id='1875722' first='Ethan' last='Ulrich'] Cactus Shadows (Factory 17)

A scoring guard with athleticism who missed all year with the double transfer rule. His on-ball defense stood out and he blocked shots and rebounded. He will score with euro steps, deep threes with range and he is a stud on the break.

[player_tooltip player_id='1763220' first='Devin' last='Sanders'] Canyon View (AZ Venom 17)

A defensive minded point guard who is quick on the ball to collect steals. He will also score with give and go's catch threes, fast break buckets and he hit two clutch threes at the end of the game under a minute including one to take the lead when they were down 20+ points in their comeback win.

[player_tooltip player_id='2134454' first='Kameron' last='Pippen'] Palo Verde (Team RHJ 17)

A powerfully built scoring lead guard. He is a downhill stud using his thicker frame and tighter handle to go along with a deceptively quick first step. He will score with mid-range jumpers and he is an incredible passer slicing up the defense. He probably had close to 10 assists in this game.

[player_tooltip player_id='2832186' first='Derek' last='Overton'] Ironwood Ridge (Team RHJ 17)

A newcomer for me is a point forward type or combo guard who plays on or off the ball. He has deceptive speed and he will get downhill with his left hand and score it in transition. He can defend a couple positions and will bring some experience to the team.

[player_tooltip player_id='1753117' first='Quincey' last='Sims'] Verrado (AZ Grind)

A scoring guard with some size. He will put points on the board quickly with off the dribble threes, downhill takes with his left or right hand and pull-ups off the dribble. He is a plus athlete and will rebound well in his area.
