The VISAA, Virginia's private school association, held their championships last weekend at Benedictine, and the Friday and Saturday have become known as one of the best weekends for high school basketball every year.

I called the games on the CBG Live Network on YouTube (and they're still up there for anyone who wants to watch), and the action was nothing short of fantastic. Here's a look at some of the standouts from the D-III division.

[player_tooltip player_id='2605296' first='Messiah' last='Dixon'] | 5'10” PG | Fairfax Christian '26

Dixon was absolutely fantastic running the show for Fairfax Christian and helping them win their third straight state championship, as he set the tone on both ends and impacted the game in so many ways. He was fantastic defensively hounding ball handlers and jumping passing lanes, he touches the paint at will and made plays for others, he finished well and showed he can score it efficiently from multiple levels. He finished with 27 points in their semifinal win over Roanoke Catholic and while he only had 10 in the championship he impacted the game across the board.

[player_tooltip player_id='1370511' first='Frank' last='Siaca-Bey'] | 6'8” C | Fairfax Christian '26

Siaca-Bey was the Cardinals difference maker for the most part, as there wasn't anyone in their division that could match up with, let alone guard the skilled 6'8” big man. They went to him a lot, particularly in the championship game, and he showed his nimble feet and soft touch around the rim, he passed well out of double teams, he rebounded well on both ends and he was highly efficient from the field and from the line. He finished with 16 points in the championship game and when they went to him in the second half is when they started to really pull away.

[player_tooltip player_id='1767553' first='Trey' last='Fitch'] | 6'4” WG | Fairfax Christian '26

Fitch is one of three returners from last year's championship team, and his leadership was on full display as he played with toughness and stepped up big in the championship game for them. The 6'4” wing is one of their most versatile players as he's an athletic finisher and can guard the other team's best player, he can score the ball in a number of different ways and he leads both vocally and by example with his all-out play. He finished with 12 points in the championship and 11 in the semifinal, but his impact was much more than just scoring the ball.

[player_tooltip player_id='2452251' first='Joaquin' last='Harley'] | 5'11” PG | Carmel '25

Harley was the most experienced returner on this Carmel team, and the senior floor general was pivotal for them as they upset the #1 seed St. Michael to get to the championship before falling to Fairfax Christian. He was a rock handling the ball and handling pressure, he made shots at an efficient clip, set the tone defensively and made plays for others as well. He finished with 12 points in the semifinal and was impactful in many ways for his team throughout the weekend.

[player_tooltip player_id='2880095' first='Nicolo' last='Passalacqua'] | 6'4” F | Carmel '26

Passalacqua made a name for himself throughout the weekend, as he was their top scorer in both games and the Italian native is a player to keep an eye on moving forward. The 6'4" hybrid forward has a lot of euro style to his game, as he can play both inside and out on the perimeter, he's very crafty as he uses fakes and good footwork to get his shot off, he can guard multiple positions and he has good ball skills for his size. He finished with 14 points in their win over St. Michael and 20 in their loss to Fairfax Christian.

Jordan Watson | 6'2” CG | Carmel '26

Watson was big for Carmel in the championship game, using his ability to get downhill and create space off the bounce to score it and keep them in the game for much of it. The 6'2” combo guard showed a quick first step and good burst getting downhill, he made tough shots from multiple levels and he was very good defensively jumping passing lanes too. He finished with 18 points in their championship loss to Fairfax Christian.

Odita Aguoulu | 6'6” WF | St. Michael '26

Aguoulu had a fantastic season for the #1 seed in the tournament St. Michael, and will have a good chance of being named Player of the Year in the division, and while he got off to a slow start he showed how talented he is with bringing his team back in the second half. The 6'6” wing showed his athleticism with his ability to get downhill and finish at and above the rim, he made some big shots down the stretch when his team needed him to and he guarded and played multiple positions throughout the game. He scored 20 of his game high 27 points in the second half during their comeback.

[player_tooltip player_id='2459355' first='Dezmon' last='Ainsworth'] | 6'3” CG | St. Michael '26

Ainsworth showed his versatility and ability to impact the game across the board, as he didn't put up a ton in the scoring department but he made positive plays in a lot of different ways. The 6'3” combo guard showed quick hands and disrupted a lot of plays defensively, he rebounded very well as a guard, he handled pressure and controlled the tempo and made great decisions as a playmaker. He's part of a large group of them that will return and look to get the job done next year.

Jayden Johnson | 6'3” WG | Roanoke Catholic '26

While Roanoke Catholic was outmatched by Fairfax Christian for most of the game, Johnson showed why he's going to be an All State selection and is one of the best players in the Roanoke area. The junior wing was lights out as he worked well off the ball to get open and made shots off the catch, he showed his ability to get to the rim and finish, he had great footwork and made tough pull-ups in the midrange and he showed he can work on the ball and make plays for others too. He finished with 29 points and hit four three's in their loss to Fairfax Christian.
