With the season finishing up weeks ago I thought about how many seniors we have in the state that still haven't signed with a school yet. I put together a few list of players who can play at the next level. Starting with some of the more known names in the state in Steve's Unsigned Senior Stars: Part 1!

[player_tooltip player_id='1766460' first='Al' last='Brooks'] Rich Township 6'7

All-State first team. Brooks is a stat stuffer. Scores mostly around the basket off drives using his length to maneuver around defenders. On defense he's a glass eater, rim protector, and on-ball defender. With an improving jump shot he's a no-brainer for D1. Brooks plays with energy and passion on both sides of the ball.

[player_tooltip player_id='1385283' first='Aleks' last='Alston'] Kenwood 6'11

Alston had a really impressive season for the Broncos. A member of the All-State third team Aleks showed to be the prototypical stretch 4 man for the next level. He shot the ball well from three out of pick-and-pop plays, but Alston added a nice mid-post turn-around fadeaway that relied on often against smaller defenders. As an improving rebounder and shot blocker Aleks put together some games this season where he was close to triple-doubles. As his skills improved so did his energy and effectiveness on the court.

[player_tooltip player_id='2326966' first='Moses' last='Wilson'] Waubonsie Valley 6'6

Wilson was a member of the all-area team and is an uber athletic wing player who can guard multiple players on the court. He made name-catching lobs and put guys on posters. Wilson isn't credited for having solid ball skills and can score off the dribble with space. With his length on defense he can block shots with ease. Can be a D1 or settle at a D2.

[player_tooltip player_id='2321397' first='TJ' last='Seals'] Kenwood 6'5

Another stat-stuffing forward who can guard multiple positions on the court. TJ is a rebound hound who's a huge threat to rack up numbers whenever he's on the court. Seals can score on the perimeter and in the mid-post. His biggest skill is scoring off offensive boards. What some people are surprised with is how well Seals passes the ball in transition. A low D1 talent who would benefit from going to a top JUCO program.

[player_tooltip player_id='1766472' first='Donte' last='Montgomery'] Oak Lawn 6'2

Donte is a microwave scoring guard who will light you up on the perimeter if you don't pick him up once he crosses the half-court. Montgomery is a thin guard who has the ball on the string. He can score off the bounce and make things happen in the lane if forced off the line. Donte is one of the better-scoring threats in the class and wouldn't be surprised if a low D1 or D2 program took him in summer.

[player_tooltip player_id='1545131' first='Elijah' last='Lovemore'] Bloom 6'3

Lovemore big lead guard who can move the ball well on offense. He has a knack for hitting guys in stride for assists. As a big guard, he is also good at scoring around the rim. Elijah is tough and never backs down from competition. He's improved his shot some from the beginning of the season. On defense, he anticipates passes well by jumping the passing lanes and converting them into points. Lovemore could be effective in an up-tempo offense in college.

[player_tooltip player_id='1385307' first='Cameron' last='Thomas'] Mount Carmel 6'3

Thomas is an energetic scoring guard who makes shots at a high rate. He's a stocky guard who gets buckets from all three levels. He's had multiple 20+ performances and even reached 30-point games a few times. Cam is an athlete on the court which means he can do a lot of things. Should be a better rebounder on the college level at his position. Already has some Division 1 interest.

[player_tooltip player_id='1385305' first='Lorenzo' last='Shields'] Simeon 6'2

Zo is a quick guard who plays with tons of confidence and isn't afraid of the moment. Shields is a point guard who can score when needed but will also be a solid distributor in the right style of offense. Lorenzo plays with the ball on the string and has terrific footwork when in attack mode. As a shooter, he's streaky but has the mechanics to improve his shot. Shields has talent that would benefit more going the JUCO route to improve on his decision-making and polishing up his shot.
