While Cascade certainly had hoped for another state title to add to their trophy case, closing out the year with a victory felt just right for the explosive 6-foot-1 guard, who tallied 19 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists, and 4 steals in a complete game effort.

"You want to get the first place trophy, but at the end of the day it's a blessing from God that we even get to be in this position to be able to play in these games in front of these fans," Knox said. "So I just like to thank the Lord for giving me these brothers that I get to call teammates and this journey that we've had these last four years. You want to win a championship, but you want to win your last game. That's big and that's a good memory that I'll be able to look back and be able to win the last game of my high school career with my best friends."

So what's next for Knox? The college level of course and he's been honing in on one program where he believes he can be successful - one that recently stepped up with a scholarship offer. "I haven't like locked in anywhere for sure but for me personally I'd love to play at that NAIA level and then a school for that would be probably Corban," Knox said. "They're my front-runner right now but nothing's been for sure - but wherever God takes me, I know He's got a plan so I'm fine with whatever."

Other options include roster spot offers from Pacific and Willamette, and there's also interest from numerous junior college programs in the NWAC. He broke down what he's most looking for at the next level.

"I want a competitive program a team that wants to go in and win night in night out, a team that's going to go and compete and practice," Knox said. "Of course you want to go somewhere that's good basketball and like a level that I think I can play at and exceed at, so for me probably the NAIA level. And then I like Corban too because I'm a Christian and it's a Christian college and so I'd really like the knowledge and the academics I could get from that."

As his recruitment sorts itself out, Knox can look back on the year - and his high school career - with a lot of pride. "We've had some juggernaut teams in the past and this year a lot of people thought that we were going to underachieve or a lot of people said we weren't even gonna make it to the tournament," Knox said. "There's been a leadership role that I've had to step into but I wouldn't even like call myself a leader - I've got other seniors that have come together and they've helped me and that we've just been a brotherhood. This team's just had a lot of love and a lot of togetherness and so that's been big."

Knox currently ranks as the #36 player in the recently updated Class of 2025 rankings.
