RCS Sports 2025 Unsigned Senior Showcase

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Last weekend, the AAU season officially tipped off with the Spring Icebreaker hosted by Houston's own Jim Hicks and Doug Jones. Headlining the start of this event was the RCS Sports Unsigned Senior Showcase, which gives many of surrounding seniors in the Texas areas exposure opportunities in front of college coaches. This event had several key standout players this year, but there were a select few who rose above the rest and caught my eye. He is a key rebounder who knows how to position himself under the goal for multiple chance opportunities whether it be cashing in on layups or kicking the ball back out to an open three-point shooter. Smith also showed he can handle the ball against full court pressure and score through tough contact. Weeks is a very coachable prospect, and he makes winning plays on both sides of the ball. He is an all-around player: crashing the boards, effective off the pick and roll, and a very encouraging teammate. He makes the right reads on defense, plays passing lanes well, and is a good transition player. Young can get to the basket with ease through the defense or pull up from deep if left open. He has a unique blend of size, quick speed, and athleticism that allows him to be a three-level scorer and defensive force. He is fundamental in the way he plays defense and possesses sound IQ as a ballhandler and scorer on offense. In addition to winning every matchup they played. he got to the basket with deceptive speed and quick ballhandling and decision making. He shoots the three ball at an effective rate and is smart about his shot selection. He plays physical on ball defense and does not let his matchup get comfortable with the ball in his hands. Washington knows how to play help defense well as he comes away with several steals from stripping players on the way up and is good at getting the ball to the lead man on fastbreaks.
