We took in two of the four games from the Mayo Civic Center on Tuesday and we put together the players you should know from those section playoff games!

[player_tooltip player_id='2385546' first='Zane' last='Nelson'] of Lewiston-Altura (6'5, 2025). Nelson might be the best senior in Minnesota you don't know about. He is an All State player in Class AA and his season finished up averaging 26 points, 12 rebounds and two blocks a game. Nelson is a power forward that does have a touch, he is agile at 190 pounds, and his effort is very strong. I think he would make for a really strong D3 player and if his development contineus in college, maybe D2. Nelson is highly productive possession to possession and a lot of good players can't say that.

[player_tooltip player_id='2126464' first='Gavyn' last='Lorenson'] of Lake City (6'4, 2027). Gavyn is a prospect that is going to fly up the charts when there is a new rankings release. Gavin is 6'4, he has very good handles, he is long and moves very well both getting up and down plus moving laterally, and he gives Lake City so many different contributions. He scored 15 points last night on 6 of 14 shooting which in a 56-50 win was important scores, but his dozen rebounds, his assists, and Gavyn's contesting defense was equally important. Lorenson is scoring 21 points with six rebounds a game.

Noah Goergen of Southland (6'0, 2025). Noah is the southern Minnesota player that scored 47 points in a win over Pacelli a few weeks back and after last night, his Rebel team is 28-0, they are one of three undefeated teams in the state of Minnesota. Last night the Southland balanced attack of ball movement and shooters in all corners of the gym picked up a 63-36 win over Fillmore Central. Noah hit four threes on his way to 17 points with six boards and four assists.

Tate Goergen of Southland (6'0, 2027). Keen an eye on this young point guard in the years to come. His passing ability, his transition push, and his smarts in moving the ball to make shooters comfortable, it's very strong. Tate is the Southland second leading scorer at 16 points a game but last night he had eight assists and six boards that were pushed the other way, and those were his biggest contributions. Plus he scored ten points.

[player_tooltip player_id='2437337' first='Joshua' last='Wohlers'] of Lake City (6'5, 2025). Wohlers stepped in and gave the team a second scoring option last night putting six buckets on the board to get his 13 point average with six boards. He scored on 6 of 11 field goals using his size and agility at his size to move around the Lewiston-Altura frontcourt.

Miles Richtzigel of Cannon Falls (6'3, 2027). Miles had 17 points last night and he is another sophomore on this list that is going to take his program forward with expectations. Miles is scoring 16 points a game this year as the second leading scorer behind [player_tooltip player_id='1874846' first='Gavin' last='Johnson'].

[player_tooltip player_id='2619937' first='Greg' last='Kennedy'] of Fillmore Central (6'5, 2025). Greg is a 6'5 agile and athletic forward. He is more of a football prospect but he used his physical gifts to be one player that could produce against Southland. He had 16 points and six rebounds.

Henry Wiste of Southland (6'3, 2027). Wiste is another reason, along with Tate and a few of the bench guys, that we think Southland will continue to be a team that is in the Class A top ten. Wiste just plays tough for his team. Last night he scored his season average of ten points plus he had 13 rebounds.

Jack Meyers of Cannon Falls (6'0, 2025). Jack had one of his better games of the season last night scoring 24 points which is three times his average. The Bombers beat Cotter 70-58.

Mateo Lopez-Amor of Winona Cotter (6'3, 2026). Mateo scored 14 to lead Cotter.
