District Champions Boyd-Buchanan (26-7) dug a sizable hole falling behind 15-2 early and despite four three-pointers by senior Caleb Nunez Caleb Nunez 5'11" | SG Boyd-Buchanan | 2025 State TN , the Buccaneers lost 60-52. Battle Ground Academy (18-11) advances to the State Tournament in Cookeville, Tennessee.
Far east in Knoxville, CAK (30-4) struggled to score and lost to the visiting Gryphons of St. George's, 51-39.
3/1/25: CAK could not keep Odom off of the offensive glass. Odom was quite good as a post defender. He was not a shot-blocker, but the sharp cuts by CAK did not find the bottom of the net like they usually did all year. Odom and the frontline deserve some credit for that.
Highlights
3/1/25: Amir's defensive commitment to slowing an elite scorer enabled St. George's to keep CAK under 40 points. Amir chased Caden Owens around screens and closed out. He worked his butt off.

3/1/25: Boyd-Buchanan came out in a 2-3 zone. It kept Hardaway from facing many problems defensively, but Boyd's guards did not do well keeping players out of the lane.

played poorly in the opening quarter. His aggression was ok. The team lacked offensive direction though and he made a couple poor passes that led to turnovers. Asa's eagerness to get to the basket just was so low through the games first 11 minutes. Finally, he hit a mid-range jumper midway through the second.

3/1/25: Greyson scored four points in BGA's 15-2 start. Greyson's three-pointer from the top of the key lifted BGA to 26-13 late in the 2nd quarter. Greyson answered the visiting Buccaneers 6-0 run with a 20' three-pointer also late in the 2nd.
